Contemplating the strange human species, & my life as a beef cow.
Biodiversity, ecosystems, extinctions, climate, pollution, plastics, animal rights, sentience, human rights.
Science, systemic change, individual action.

Of course I'm vegan, I'm a cow.

I follow many people on here who aren't vegan, because they align with my other values & hopes for human society. I absolutely disagree with some of their lifestyle choices (for instance, I'd rather they didn't want to eat me) but that doesn't stop me from appreciating & learning from their wisdom❤️

A timeline cleanser: My recent newsletter is about rise of "repair cafes" around the world, where communities come together to fix each other's beloved things. The goal: reduce consumer waste, and maybe make some buddies in the process 🔧👭

Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

Lost?? If wealthy countries had ever been serious about tacking the climate emergency they'd have mandated plant-based diets, significantly cut back air & road travel, & massively reduced extraction, manufacturing (esp plastics), & consumerism.

If this story upsets you, go vegan & help prevent further atrocities such as this one 💔

Of course carbon offsets have turned out to be greenwashing.
Since their conception we've known it's just a grift for corporations who want to make a buck out of climate change, & fairy-tale accounting to help people feel good about their unabated GHG emissions.

‘There is no money’: As carbon markets collapse, what happens to the forests they promised to protect?
After it was found most offsets did not represent real carbon reductions, the money dried up. But successful schemes such as Kasigau in Kenya now face a stark future
