“Sin, young man, is when you treat people like things. Including yourself. That’s what sin is.”
― Terry Pratchett, Carpe Jugulum

No religion ever made it this clear. Families could stay together, and wars might even be averted if they did. But religions would go out of business. #Discworld

In "The Time Monster" on Doctor Who, he makes a Time-flow Analogue. It measures the flow of time and can jam it. He makes it out of kitchen junk and tea leaves.

On #Discworld, witches make Shambles to measure and amplify magic, using stuff in their pockets and a living thing.

They're the same.

Why light matters this Christmas

This is the first in a six-video Christmas series exploring light, not just as a festival symbol, but as a political and economic necessity.

Is this one of the greatest scenes in movie history?

I think so — that’s why “It’s a Wonderful Life” is my all-time favorite.

Federal tax prosecutions have fallen to their lowest level in decades — dropping 27% the past year.

This comes after Trump made deep cuts to the IRS.

DOJ agents were reportedly also told not to prioritize tax prosecutions.

Tax cheats must be thrilled.

AI data centers are sucking up communities’ power & water.

AI is being used by corporations to shaft consumers and is threatening young workers’ job prospects.

So Trump wants to ram through a ban on state AI regulation — all to help out his Big Tech billionaire friends.

See how this works?

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

-Bust up monopolies
-Boost unions

-Ban Wall Street from buying homes
-Pass M4A
-Universal childcare
-Get rid of Trump’s tariffs
-Enact UBI
-Tax the rich

These are crucial steps to making America affordable again. Every Democrat must fight for this.

Let’s be clear: Every year the retirement age is raised is a 7% benefit cut.

We can afford to INCREASE Social Security benefits if billionaires pay their fair share!

Expiring ACA tax credits will hit small businesses especially hard. Meanwhile, 74% of small business owners are worried that their business won’t survive due to Trump’s tariffs.

Trump is crushing small businesses while doling out tax breaks to his big corporate donors.

Priorities.

Remember to shop small on Cyber Monday and during the holidays. You'll be supporting your communities and your neighbors, not just padding the profits of some massive corporation or funding the next yacht purchase by a billionaire CEO.

If Democrats want to regain working people, they must disavow Big Money.

They must hammer economic populism — and have a laser focus on the cost of living crisis in America.

There’s no way the party can speak for or represent the working class in America if it's beholden to corporate interests.

Millions of workers are toiling away from their families this holiday weekend.

So thank the workers who serve you. Appreciate the workers who care for you. Respect the workers who pick up your trash. Salute the workers who get you your mail.

Pay all workers a living wage.

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

Trump is the embodiment of all the abuses people in this country are raised to tolerate. They're the actions of a child who the teachers are afraid to discipline, both because their parents have money, and because they know the obnoxious bully has no self-control.

My ex couldn't see through Hyacinth Bucket's pretense. He thought "Keeping Up Appearances" was about an obnoxious upper-class English woman like any other.

I hated one of his best friends. He was cold until he wanted something. Then he got weaselly.

I trusted my gut and left.
