This is genuinely a foul practice at its best, and we need to hit back HARD since they’re employing open bigotry. It also gives a FALSE sense of support. If you’re claiming to be a pragmatist about a candidate’s electability, then this should worry you.

More on astroturfing:

Astroturfing is not new. Its history stretches back to the days of newspapers and physical pamphlets.

I’ve worked on countless campaigns before, worked on media teams, and helped parties/orgs/groups, but I’ve never seen something this sleazy from a Dem before

Astroturfing is unethical. Being bigoted is unethical. This whole thing is unethical and no one worth their salt would endorse this

I want to talk about my move from Substack to Ghost for a second, and what it's been like working with a nonprofit tech company that actually lives its values.

Especially if you're a writer still on Subtack, please read. 1/x

First of all, about the org: They are a nonprofit, I just met employee +
Ghost: Independent technology for modern publishing

If you're looking to transition your cat to indoor-only due to H1N1, great! There are many other benefits, too. But it may not go well if you just shut them in and call it a day, you need to commit to giving them an enriched indoor environment with lots of play. felineengineering.com/blog/indoor-...
Transitioning An Indoor/Outdoor Cat to Indoor Only • Feline Engineering
Outdoor access carries risk for a cat's health and safety. It can also lead to behavior problems. Here's how to transition your cat to a fully indoor life.

This! If you can switch from Whole Foods to a different grocery store and buy your books from bookshop.org instead of Amazon, that’s still a big step even if you feel tied to Amazon for other items. If everyone divested 30% that’s more than if a few people divest 100%.
When it comes to boycotting, just a thought. It’s okay if you can’t quit a company cold turkey. In Master Gardeners, when we encourage people to switch to native plants, the goal is 70% native, not 100%. If you were shopping at a store 80% of the time and cut it back to 60%, that 20% still hurts.

My research on the Split Attraction Model is a “trending” and “most read” article in Social Currents!

I argue that sexual orientation ≠ romantic orientation.

Asexuality shows us that romantic and sexual attraction can be unlinked.

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

Just a reminder that fascists, authoritarians, dictators of all stripes destroy archives— books, museums, databases, &c— because those things provide windows onto a plurality of other ways we might organize the world.

And so preserving, defending, and spreading that knowledge harms those regimes.

I just wrote a quick blog post about why Substack writers should switch to Ghost! micahflee.com/2025/02/not-...
Not only is Substack right-wing broligarchy garbage, it's way more expensive than Ghost
A lot of us know by now that Substack has a Nazi problem. It not only profits from fascist voices, it actively promotes their work and recruits them. And it's funded by Silicon Valley anti-democracy b...

The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.

The man of the hour related to yesterday’s assault of trans activists during @transrescueaction.bsky.social’s Sunday “Trans Walk & Talk” weekly event in West Hollywood, CA. (WeHo)

We will continue the thread by referring to him as #LGBNationalist.
