GOV. WALZ: “This is not both sides. This is owned by Republicans. Dems are willing to come back and protect what passed, not let an authoritarian president do whatever he wants… people will be lined up to get food and we’re talking about a damn ballroom? DON’T LOSE THE PLOT.”

They’re using American tax dollars to fund infrastructure in Argentina because that’s where they’re all going to flee when we kick them out of office
After announcing a $20 billion bailout of Argentina, the White House now says it's pausing $18 billion in funding for NYC infrastructure projects

No, VP Vance- the reason our emergency rooms are crowded isn't due to illegal immigrants. It's due to our for-profit health care system which leaves many Americans unable to afford healthcare insurance so the emergency room is their only option.

I keep seeing kids in their late teens and early 20s romanticize the year 2016. “It’s 2016 and you’re listening to this song…”

Guys, nobody liked 2016. Until 2020, it was considered one of the worst years anyone had ever seen. Everyone cool died. It was fucking miserable. Stop it.

Trying to help spread the word about NARA. It isn't as bad as we thought, but bad news spreads quickly and is hard to rebut. 🗃️
False panic here. I could just delete this 🧵, but instead will explain what I learned after speaking with a colleague who works there.
This was a messaging error.
The only policy change was no longer allowing buses and cars to drive up to the building.
There is no change to research access.
This is a huge restriction on access to federal records.
First he fires the archivist.
Then most of the senior employees.
Now few will be able to read federal records that used to be public.
This impacts historians, politicians, journalists, genealogists, …
Closing access to knowledge & evidence

Not to state the obvious, but none of them were sent to a terrorist prison in El Salvador. They all had lawyers, indictment by grand jury, a trial or a guilty plea where a judge ensured it was knowing & voluntary & access to an appeals process. In other words, all the hallmarks of due process.

Some of you know that “civility” is one of my hard “ugh” triggers. This thread will explain why.

Ohio has basically defacto banned trans healthcare for adults using a similar strategy to why there was only a handful of abortion clinics in the entire Midwest before the Dobbs decision (TRAP laws)

cis people please repost this so this info doesn't get stuck in the queer social bubble
Breaking: Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) bans, by executive order, gender-affirming surgery for minors, effective immediately. The move followed last week's veto of a broader bill. He also announced two proposed rules that will apply to all care, including adults. substack.com/profile/2269...
