If Ireland's emissions are "too small to matter" then I might as well evade my taxes and eat doughnuts for lunch.

European governments are not only failing people seeking protection, they’re also punishing those who try to fill that dangerous gap.

When the reckoning comes (and let’s hope it’s not after something truly horrific), Ireland is going to have to come to terms with cosying up to the tech companies that helped break *everything*. Our enabling of their bullshit is in conflict with our self image as a force for good in the world.

Is there an exact proportion of diasporic Jewish support for Israel at which the moral justifiability of their treatment of Palestinians changes?

And if there isn't, why do we ascribe so much importance to that proportion?

Afroditi Latinopoulou: anti-immigration, anti-abortion, wants to ban LGBT+ teachers

Alvise Pérez: wants to build El Salvador-like prisons for people with gang tattoos

Roberto Vannacci: doesn't like women, gay people, immigrants; likes Mussolini

Here are the Irish MEPs who just sided with the far-right (fascists, racists, sexists, homophobes, climate deniers) from across the EU

They've voted to gut protections that would have made businesses check and report their supply chains for child labour, human rights abuse or nature destruction

Make no mistake, this excavation wouldn’t be happening if Catherine Corless hadn’t stuck her neck out and defied people telling her to leave it alone.

But the scale of this is unimaginable. It’s not just M&B homes, it’s laundries, it’s industrial schools, it’s giant psych hospitals.

Immigration is not the cause of the housing crisis, the health crisis or the neglect of urban and rural communities across the country.

The government is once again turning to dogwhistling on immigration in the aftermath of their humiliating loss in the presidential election.

Just don’t think you can disconnect the government taking an increasingly hostile rhetorical line to migrants this week with that horrific attack on the IPAS centre in Drogheda. If you tell these people they have a point, they will escalate their violence.
