The new 2025 Global Carbon Budget finds that fossil fuel emissions will reach a new high in 2025. Total CO2 emissions (including land use) remain flat at 2024 levels.

While the land sink is up from 2024, carbon sinks are weakening: www.carbonbrief.org/...

Tackling the carbon emissions of bottom trawling is a fast and effective way to forestall climate change while protecting our precious marine ecosystems. But despite the minimal returns, governments across Europe keep subsidising the practice

Any Op Ed insisting that Ireland should integrate militarily with the EU, and that avoids confronting EU complicity in genocide in Palestine, can only be seen as propaganda.

Look out for it.

ICE deported him anyways.

They literally put a man who was at death’s door on a plane to Costa Rica.

Doctors there found he had encephalopathy, rhabdomyolysis and the inability to eat on his own.

What happened to him in ICE custody to cause this?

He died a few weeks after deportation:

Most of Ireland's uplands are commonage, ie co-owned by local farmers.

The ONLY real income from commonage is via subsidies, almost always for ecosystem-killing sheep. This is why Irish mountains are all empty wastelands, kept that way by your taxes.

Why are we STILL not paying farmers to rewild??

3 things Starmer could do instead of camps in old barracks that would actually WORK👇

1. Create safe, regulated routes to apply for asylum in the UK

2. Let asylum seekers WORK & support themselves

3. Fast track status for people from obviously unsafe countries

Having been involved with this report for the past 5 years, overall takeaways IMO are:

- Good news: we know (in great detail) the things the 🌎 needs to do to stay w/in 1.5°C!
- Good news: we are doing many of the things!
- Bad news: we’re not doing ANY of the things at the necessary speed or scale!
BREAKING: The #StateOfClimateAction 2025 finds the world is failing to act fast enough to combat the climate crisis and secure a livable future, with no indicators of global climate action currently on track for 2030. 🌏🌡️
