i am 100% of the belief that simply forcing take-writers to answer the question "who specifically said this and why are they significant" would result in substantially fewer bad takes circulating in the world
if i ever teach a class on argumentative writing i am going to use these paragraphs as an example of how to NOT write persuasively for an audience.

There's a new federal agency with explicit oversight authority over every other Federal department, led by a private citizen who is openly using his private enterprises to run it. And he has a level of granular, direct authority over powers of personnel and the purse that's completely unprecedented.

I admit, what I keep coming back to with DOGE is that *even if you take them entirely at their word and agree with their objectives*, it is fucking wild that the largest reorganization of the Federal government in decades is being done by a few Executive Orders with no legislative or public input.

I've been saying this is the goal with education for years.
It's annoying how clearly this is going to play out.
They gut the FAA.
Therefore, the FAA can't do its job well because it was gutted.
Therefore, they say "The FAA sucks, we have to privatize it." which is what Project 2025 wants to do. They're manufacturing the crises for their end goal.
