USA is into the playoffs

It’s a 6-5 victory over Germany to clinch the final playoff spot at the Olympic curling qualification.

These games are incredibly pressure-packed. The Americans are moving on.

Even if you've never been on a boat, and never plan on being on a boat.... This still needs to worry you! 80% of the world's goods are transported by boat at some point in the supply chain.

Cargo ships would be impacted by this, and it will then impact our supply of essential goods.

It’s critical to make “climate‑aware, nationally consistent mapping information public. Our flood mapping program should be treated as critical national infrastructure, as important as the core weather forecasting that the National Weather Service provides.” Cost: $3-$12 billion.
This is the correct take on the whole Zillow fiasco

(and fire maps, and hurricane maps)

2023 PCAST report essentially called for this as well - it's been a recognized gap in capacity for years bidenwhitehouse.archives.gov/wp-content/u...

On a podcast ad, I just heard a cheerful woman's voice chirp, "In Minnesota, the best tuna noodle casserole is the one made with Miracle Whip." On so many levels, what the helllllllllll.

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

I'm personally pretty neutral on clocks changing because I've spent so much time looking at daylight maps and live in a northern state (so I feel like we benefit the most from equalizing sunlight hours), but if we're going pick one, I am strongly team Standard Time. savestandardtime.com/maps/

LOST writer-producer Damon Lindelof says he won’t work with Disney unless Kimmel js reinstated. I’m hearing other talent weighing similar pledges.
