No kudos to the team in Charlotte who messed up, but all credit to the baggage folks here in SLC who got me a resolution in less than 5 minutes last night, set clear expectations, and gave me confidence it would be all taken care of.

Bag was delivered to my house tonight!
When the check in agent in Charlotte told me where to put my oversize curling broom bag, I triple checked the spot she told me to put it to ensure I put it in the correct spot.

The bag did not make it home to SLC.

Good thing the Oval doesn't have curling for another month yet.

And now that my final curling event of the year is done, I wanted to share some thanks to everyone on here who has interacted, shared, or read any of my curling content on any platform.

Kudos to Neil and the amazing folks at Charlotte Curling Association this week for a fantastic mixed doubles event. The ice and freshly sanded rocks were outstanding.

Charlotte is what curling clubs in non-traditional clubs should look like. Awesome atmosphere with great people.

ICYMI: they just dominated the World Junior Bs. More on the rarity that is a team of players all from one club 👇
Even though they're still in juniors, the members of Team Hebert have been together for the better part of seven years and all hail from Wisconsin’s Eau Claire Curling Club.

@hoppecurls.bsky.social has the story on how it all started.
How Team Hebert's bright future began with one coach's vision
It started with a vision by an Olympian. What happens next, however, is up to the four kids who grew up at the same curling club in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

At the US Olympic Trials, the 4-person team with the most years together as a full time was not the three favorites. It was the junior team who all come from the same curling club.

Now, they are fulfilling the vision of the coach who put them together.

Dallas/Fort Worth Curling Club shared their floor plans for a 28000 sq ft facility in Irving, TX today.

Great news for the continued growth of the sport in nontraditional markets.

Team Shuster had to decline invites to the previous two Slams, but they didn't miss a beat in their return.

Plus, US junior teams capped an impressive month of December for US national teams.

Team Shuster eliminates Brad Gushue from his final Slam, and they are onto the semifinal.

Classy move from the team to stick around and applaud Gushue after handshakes.

To put into perspective the dominance exhibited by Caden Hebert in Lohja this last week, the team outscored opponents 48-13 in the first 4 ends.

Team Hebert wins the World Junior B's with a 5-2 win over Switzerland. Dominant performance all week with their closest game being the final, where they were up 5-0 after 4.

Do not be shocked if they make some waves in Denmark in a couple of months.

The strong showing from Team Hebert continues. Their 8-1 win over Australia in the quarterfinals means they just need to win one of their next two games to qualify for the Junior Worlds.
