How do they expect us to believe they can win the fight against Trump when they are losing the battle against senilety
Speaking before anti-DOGE rally, 77 year old congressman Bobby Scott twice stumbles during his brief remarks, confusing the words "social security" and "civil service"

Just finished Han Kang's Human Acts. What a beautiful, powerful book - the best novel I have read in a long time. If you ever find yourself forgetting what fiction can do, or why it is necessary, you can read this, to remind you.

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this.

Smashed records.

A big misconception about Greenland is that since it’s labeled a Danish colony, its residents are just a bunch of white dudes named Kristian—which is extremely harmful and inaccurate.

The population is 85% Indigenous! It belongs to the Kalaallit people, not to Denmark and CERTAINLY not to the U.S.

Deportation flights never stopped. The Biden Admin deported about 1 million people per year. Republicans never talked about that because it didn’t fit their narrative, and Democrats never talked about it because they feared it would anger part of their base. So ignorance ruled.

President Trump says he’s going to declare the cartels as terrorist organizations.

Why hasn’t this been done before?

One of the big reasons, Mexico has always pushed back on this in the fear that it would allow the United States to justify unilateral US Military action on Mexican soil.

Something that should be noted: Trump cand and almost certainly will destroy Elon Musk. His fortune is entirely built off effective meme stocks, subsidies and military contracts. Those contract and subsidies can be taken away with a stroke of the pen. And musk would be forced to sell spacex

Walter Bagehot wrote, in a line I dearly love, that ‘we must not let in daylight upon magic.’

It applies to fantasy literature (and film/tv) of course, but for me it also applies more widely, to the making of art. And it is NOT in tune with trends of today.
If there's anything I hope young creatives take from David Lynch, it's to reject the modern IP-driven impulse to explicitly explain and cleanly categorize the logic behind every single event and decision inside and outside of a story at least some of the time.

Tlaib needs to primary peters.
With only 59 votes in, enough Democrats have joined Republicans in support of cloture that we can confirm the bill will become law in a form harsher than when first introduced.

- Kelly (AZ)
- Gallego (AZ)
- Peters (MI)
- Slotkin (MI)
- Rosen (NV)
- Cortez-Masto (NV)
- Hassan (NH)
- Fetterman (PA)
Vote is ongoing right now. We'll see in moments whether or not the rising opposition against the bill has managed to halt it or not.

Update on the Laken Riley Act: what seems to be final cloture vote is set for TOMORROW at 10:00 am Eastern.

If you oppose the bill and haven't yet reached out to your Senator, the time is now. There is a razor thin margin and every vote counts. Make your voices heard.
