While you weren't looking, *seventeen* House Democrats just voted to strip basic rights from trans members of the military and helped the GOP pass their far-right version of the NDAA, similar to what we reported on.

This is the most Dems voting for anti-trans legislation in Congress this year.

Political violence is abhorrent. I have not celebrated Kirk's death.

But Newsom calling for his followers to "continue Charlie Kirk's work," someone who praised stoning gay people as "god's perfect law," who called for men to "take care of" trans people like they did in the 50s and 60s, is not it.

Not only is this profoundly disrespectful of James Earl Jones, this is also a microcosm of the effects of AI on labor, and indicates the *potential* impacts as AI “industry” continues to advance unregulated.

If you hate self checkout now just wait. If you haven’t yet, start organizing.
today sag-aftra filed an unfair labor practice against an epic games subsidiary behind AI vader because it failed to bargain appropriately with the union. more power to them, but this whole endeavor is rotten to the core, an affront to the legacy of an actor who can no longer advocate for himself

Increase in productivity since 1979: 86%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 31%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

This is the text of the email just sent to hundreds of international students telling them that their visas have been revoked due to activism or social media posts.

Mega-🧵 on the battle between:

- the Warren Court (posts 1-27) +
- the Federalist Society (28-47)

This isn't just a style shift in theories of jurisprudence, but an active slow-motion fight over which civil rights we'll be allowed to keep

A sobering enumeration of how high those stakes are
Where do our rights come from? Believe it or not, the United States has been rolling back our rights for 40 years. The biggest expansion of the peoples' rights in American history actually occurred between 1953 and 1969, during the period of American history known as the "Warren Court."

In another example of DOGE’s destructive and erratic form of “governing,” the NLRB told its employees today that agency credit cards are considered frozen for at least the next 30 days.

This throws any NLRB election or trial that requires overnight travel into question.
