Brian Schatz: "This is not about money. There is enough money to bail out Argentina with $20b. There is enough money to purchase a brand new aircraft for $173m for Noem. There is enough money to renovate the WH ballroom. What there isn't enough money for under this Republican government is you."

Republicans control every branch in Washington.

Now, Trump is openly giddy about using the shutdown to slash and burn federal resources that working Americans count on.

His shutdown, and firings, will hurt people in every part of this country.

We are edging closer to the day when Trump orders "his" military to take out the "vermin" and "human scum" in the USA. Which, if you do not already realize it dear reader, means every person who opposes Trump (human scum) and every person who isn't a white conservative cultural Christian (vermin)

It is very important to understand that this was not just an editorial or business decision about what to air. This was in response to a direct government threat. This was government censorship of political opinions.

The remarks weren’t “about Charlie Kirk,” they were about how this administration is using Kirk’s death as an excuse to shut down critics … and they responded by proving him completely correct.

I’d think what you’d want during a highly volatile, politically polarized time marked by violence is a president who can appeal to our common values and humanity and inspire calm and unity, rather than promising revenge.

If you cared about the collective well-being of the country, that is

Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory?

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”

Bombing the Venezuelan boaters is a dangerous new line crossed.
Trump now has tasted blood, with no apparent consequences. He ordered killings which appear illegal, certainly grossly immoral, and the military carried out his order without flinching.
This will greatly embolden him.

That Pritzker press conference was... surreal, and I think marks a significant moment of escalation in the constitutional omni-crisis. This was the governor of a state saying plainly the Union itself is being torn apart and his state is being militarily invaded by an authoritarian regime.

We are off the rails
I know, I know, but: The president of the US saying, literally, "we're going in" in reference to sending the military to an American city for no reason beyond terrorizing the local population should be the most immediately impeachable shit imaginable

This is fucking nuts
Quinnipiac poll:

56% of voters oppose Trump's decision to send National Guard troops to D.C. 41% support it.

61% of Independents oppose the effort.

He's a joke.
RADDATZ: The president went in to that meeting saying he wanted a ceasefire and there would be consequences if they didn't agree on a ceasefire in that meeting, and they didn't agree to a ceasefire. Where are the consequences?

RUBIO: That's not the aim

In 2016, Ghislaine Maxwell falsely stated, under oath, that she was not aware that Jeffrey Epstein recruited underage girls for sex (you know, the ones she was actually recruiting on his behalf). She was charged with two counts of perjury for this.

Remind me why we give a shit what she says now?

“ICE gets a bigger budget than the Marine Corps” is a simple fact that should be communicated very widely because it clearly expresses how crazy and radical this is
With this budget, ICE alone would have nearly as large a detention operation as all 50 states' prison systems combined. Bigger budget than the Marine Corps. Police-state levels of spending
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

It’s absolutely impossible to think this is the result of good faith legal analysis, especially when they refuse to provide any reasons!
According to this Supreme Court, President Biden's Department of Education was exceeding its power by trying to forgive peoples' student loans.

President Trump, on the other hand, has the power to just completely dismantle the entire Education Department.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to move forward with the abolition of the Department of Education. It gives no explanation for its order. All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...
