“I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

ICE has been raiding my neighborhood and surrounding ones for the last couple of weeks now. They commandeered my local church (against the pastor's will) for a staging site and raided supermarkets, parks, Goodwills, bus stops, you name it.

The national media's been silent. So has @mayor.lacity.gov.
Engagement on our updates re: ICE kidnappings/fed siege of Los Angeles is significantly lower on Bluesky compared to Twitter. Do ppl on here not care about LA anymore? Are feeds being taken over by liberal commentators? What's going on?

Community members on the ground can't do it all. We need help.
The feds are escalating in Los Angeles. We've seen record high kidnappings and our communities are under attack. The media focus on LA has died down so electeds don't feel the need to even feign opposition.

People are out here fighting. We need all of us. Join the struggle. Defend your neighbors.

I honestly miss posting about fun and ridiculous things, but with the news lately, I feel like Captain America from that one "Texts from Superheroes" comic. 😠

I've also been cutting back on bottomless brunch, which means no more dedicated 2-4 hours of inebriated weekend shit posting, sorry. 💖

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

what we’re losing faith in is the systems. in the rulers. in the structures. in the lies we’ve been told and fed and propagandized to believe.

what I am not losing faith in is you.

we can do this. we shall overcome.

Charlie Kirk spent his life‘s work and all of his energy and time targeting out-groups while arguing for a world in which gun massacres would be easy to enact, plentiful, and inevitable, and he became famous and wealthy doing it, and we’re now not supposed to mention that because it’s not polite.

With regards to marriage equality, remember:

They have already overturned Roe.

They're coming for Obergefell.

They're coming for Lawrence v. TX.

They're coming for contraception.

They're coming for no-fault divorce.

The only thing that will stop them is if we come for them.
The only thing that will stop Trump is a grassroots movement using diverse tactics.

(not just protests! We need boycotts, strikes, slowdowns, guerrilla art, disruptions, gumming the works from the inside, etc) from a cross-section of society.

It’s on us.

I've been writing down some notes on my current approach to making Horror TTRPGs, and wanted to share some thoughts while I'm waiting on something.

My current model for making Horror TTRPGs is based on the profound amount of haunted houses I go to with @jenmiller00.bsky.social every year.

Everything happening now was obvious by March 2021. That's why I wrote about it *then*.

This matters because this is a planned autocracy. Feigned surprise at horrors is meant to rewrite history and present our plight as if it wasn't a plan obvious four years ago and countenanced by both parties.

Kidnapping.

Capturing a person against their will without due process is called kidnapping.

Transporting them to another country without due process is called human trafficking.

A squalid extrajudicial prison for people found guilty of no crime is called a concentration camp.
stop calling things deportation just because they call it deportation.

-You cannot legally deport people without due process.

-You cannot legally deport citizens.

-They are defining down deportation to break the law.
Leavitt confirmed that the WH is working on deporting US citizens to El Salvador

It's not just fdr. One of the things the epa did not long after it was formed was document the nation's pollution via photography. That can seem frivolous, but generations of Americans have no idea why the EPA was necessary. This broke a million views when we published it in 2017
This is what America looked like before the EPA cleaned it up

Tough not to see a stark contrast between the amount of state sanctioned violence levied at anybody making a peep in recent history since at least Occupy Wall Street with the number of elected officials just going 'what are ya gonna do?' while the government is hijacked by people who Jan 6th'd them.

Do you know why a president would do all the most evil and heinous shit via Executive Order? Because his party can't easily make it law. And if they can't make it law, they can't make it last.

Don't let anyone make you feel like this is The End. Do not let them demoralize you. Live to see them die.
