Bad Starbucks work experience

My store was around the corner from Madison Square Garden. One busy morning, around a 300 ticket rush, we had about half the morning shift call out. We had a new hire on register, I was on food & drip coffee, & the best barista was making everything else themself

IRW — a Pulitzer-winning nonprofit newsroom at American — and @thebarbedwire.com traced the history of anti-trans legislation. Houston conservatives realized homophobia didn’t fly anymore, weaponized girls’ safety, and parroted segregationist language. It worked.

I will never willingly use AI for anything in my life and actively dissuade others from using AI
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

What they're saying is that you don't deserve to live

Capitalism is disgusting on every sensible level
During the height of the pandemic, Tyson used Palantir to predict Covid-19 infections among meatpacking workers down to a nearly exactly figure. But rather than using this data to increase worker protections, Tyson used it plan for labor shortages + plant closures

porn is not evil.
sex is not evil.
pleasure is not evil.
kink is not evil.

none of them are things to feel shame or embarrassment about.

none of them deserve the heavy-handed censorship that they're facing.

I hope that one day the term LGBT will become a thing of the past.
I will continue to spread my message until we live in a world where everyone can love freely and is free from persecution and discrimination.
Until then, let's all support each other🤍

How do I explain to offline people that my favorite Japanese mascot said "we can only be liberated from queer oppression if we are truly seen as human" and then started wielding fireworks like a rocket launcher on the side of a mountain without sounding like I've totally lost it?

This is a good profile of Baltimore's Mayor Scott, and it's a good read. I only vaguely knew what Mayor Scott was like, and it's too easy to base opinions on people like him off biased headlines. So I'm glad this is fairly in depth

I love the Baltimore food scene. There's so many good, affordable places to go. It sucks that the economy is going to shit right now, or else I'd eat out a lot more. I know a lot of restaurants and cafes will struggle cuz of the Trump Tax
