Like "What if people who have devoted generations to this work aren't fucking idiots?" seems like a question at least worth entertaining, hypothetically.

this is a parent discovering that

1) Stimulant medication is a treatment rather than a cure

2) ADHD is generally co-morbid with other, likely undiagnosed, disorders
trying to start a moral panic and the stories are all like “the ADHD meds really helped but didn’t solve everything”

I know the world is rough right now. "it is a history made up of the trampling of the weak by the strong, the crushing of the little by the great, and, for the majority of men, the incredible accumulation of woes." That's why you should read this excerpt from Congar, so you can see where God stands.

I feel like I’m a broken record always playing the same song: be conscious of who from amongst the margins might be sitting at the table with you. “Them” in the prayers of the people might actually be some of “us”. 2/3

Lovely collect today (based of course on Augustine).

Almighty God,
you have made us for yourself,
and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you:
pour your love into our hearts and draw us to yourself,
and so bring us at last to your heavenly city
where we shall see you face to face;

This is Rev David Black, minister of the First Presbyterian Church in Chicago. He was shot seven times in the head with chemical pellets by ICE agents as he was kneeling to pray at a protest. He's one of three clergymen that ICE shot in the head.
