My humble advice: don't play the Republican war game. Refuse to take part in their strategy of distracting from important economic & political power issues by waging 'culture wars'. By dutifully playing their game, Dems march into a Republican trap - and can't win.
NEW: Republicans say they found their winning electoral issue: Anti-trans attacks.
And the attacks have left Democrats flat-footed.

One unexpected thing in my qualitative study w natural scientists (one-hour interviews) is how deeply, deeply sad the climate scientists are. They say things like "you have enough information from us, why won't anyone act?" -- the psychological distress these people are enduring is very great.
