Hi! This is a labeler account meant to identify Substack links. If you didn't know, Substack actively courts and platforms Nazis. If you quit X/Twitter because of the Nazi problem, well, what are you still doing on Substack? There are plenty of alternatives which may be more cost-effective for you.
FYI the bluesky app view was having trouble displaying labels all Saturday but everything should be back to normal now.
OKAY so I also updated pm2 which runs the labeler and the new version of pm2 utilizes bun (hooray!) but bun doesn't play nice with @skyware.js.org for some reason so I had to downgrade pm2 again otherwise bun would panic like every few minutes.
Labeler should be back up but it has missed most of the posts from the last day and a half and the jetstream doesn't seem to like me trying to load from that cursor.
Problem was, as usual, that I am not a very good coder and was attempting to load the whole libsql database by mistake

Asking once again why anyone would start a newsletter on the site that sent a push notification advertising a Nazi blog in the year 2025 when there are so many other options.

Labeler has been down sporadically over the past day because I needed to do some critical server updates, sorry! I should hopefully have that sorted out now.

Just please don't host it on Substack. Use Beehiiv, Ghost, Buttondown, or another platform. Just not Substack.

Reminder that Substack helped launch Bari Weiss into CBS takeover position and the precarious media position in which we find ourselves generally. (And this is only one of multiple Bad Things about them!) The best time to have left there is, like, a couple years ago, but the second best time is now.

Getting off Substack is the right move. I would compare it to moving from an app like Garageband to Ableton or Logic. Or switching from clip art to creative stock images. My business has grown. My readership has grown. Substack fills your list with junk signups, takes your money, and holds you back.
For years, this man has profited of off writers and refused to listen when they said “Hey this platform and its changes aren’t working for us.” Now he’s throwing a tantrum when those writers leave. Because he thinks no other platform will love them as much as him.

Here's the thing about leaving Substack, as a creator. First, the moral reasons to do so are easy. Platforming and promoting Nazis = bad. There's no argument there. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism but ok. (Stripe still runs Substack who platforms Nazis but also powers Ghost so....)

I have lost like 20 paid subscriptions since moving to Beehiiv, which is over $1,000. So many people talk this huge game about how they'd support me if I wasn't on Substack & calling me a Nazi for being on the platform, but then when I actually leave it's fucking crickets. What a fucking bummer, man
