I would put more money on continuing to harvest infinite energy from the sun over assuming that forcing everyone to use The Machine The Lies To You is the steady basis of an entire economy
A fun question. In 5 years time, what looks better? The US’s enormous bet & capex on AI? Or China’s equally enormous bet and capex on renewables?
China has made cheap, clean energy available in huge quantities. The world should take the win econ.st/4oqFszB

@pentadact.com Are you still using Unity for your next game or did you switch to a new engine after the runtime fee fiasco? I don’t know how things shook out in the end.

“When they rob us of art and emotion, that leads us towards the aesthetics of fascism. In this film, all the sets are real, the decor is human-sized, there are painstakingly created miniatures... It’s there to remind us that art is not only necessary, it is urgent. And AI can go fuck itself!”

Me and my girlfriend have been getting into bigger and bigger games recently and some of the games take up so much space on the table that we don’t have a lot of room for sitting drinks or snacks. So I made these shelves that clamp on the edge […]

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Trump was never religious, and he's getting scared because he knows he doesn't have much time left. The concept that morality doesn't exist without religious doctrine/fear of eternal punishment is not only stupid, it's just plain wrong, and only sociopaths would say it with any sincerity.

it's time for DOOM JUGGLING!
Ever since the Never Gonna Give You Up in Juggling Lab, people have been asking me to run Doom on Juggling Lab. But where's the fun in that? Why run one Doom in Juggling Lab when you could JUGGLE THREE DOOMS AT ONCE?

(You can only control the Doom that's at the top!)

Discovering computer as an adult makes you go crazy. Discovering computer as a baby makes you go crazy. In all of human history, there will only ever be one generation to discover computer at the correct age: 13
The problem with every post-Millennial generation is they got to go straight to high speed internet. Of course you'll get computer madness that way. Make them start with those old screeching modems and work their way up

So you’re telling me the Wizard of Oz presented itself as a towering force of overwhelming technology, only to be unmasked as just some guy, off-screen?
So apparently, it may turn out that The Wizard of Oz at the Las Vegas Sphere wasn’t entirely made in AI and Google threw the VFX crew under the bus by claiming it was all done by artificial intelligence.

If true, then fucking yikes.

I wonder how much of the sudden acceptance of age verification would have been avoided if major digital platforms hadn't monopolized access, eroded privacy to the point that one more layer of surveillance feels minor, and stewarded their spaces so poorly that nobody sees value for children in them
Ready or not, age verification is rolling out across the internet
An age-gated internet comes with huge privacy risks.
