Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

This will absolutely not help people at all. In case anyone was wondering.
Trump: "THE ONLY HEALTHCARE I'LL SUPPORT OR APPROVE IS SENDING MONEY DIRECTLY BACK TO THE PEOPLE W/ NOTHING GOING TO THE BIG, FAT, RICH INSURANCE COMPANIES, WHO HAVE RIPPED OFF AMERICA LONG ENOUGH. THE PEOPLE WILL BE ALLOWED TO NEGOTIATE & BUY THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, INSURANCE. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!"

Good job, US. So glad we are prioritizing public health and science. Oh wait...
SCOOP: CDC officials on Monday linked for the first time the measles outbreak that began in Texas with another in Utah and Arizona, a finding that could end America’s status as a nation that has eliminated measles.

Watch this and suddenly your own problems won’t feel so heavy. The good news: people stepped up and raised about $246 k+ on GoFundMe to help this woman and her baby.

There really are good people out there.

Yanno - I've been a Democrat a long time. But this latest cave has me thinking maybe it's time for a new home. WFP is looking pretty good. . .
join WFP! they’ll send you stickers and a card to carry, and they won’t say things like “standing up to Trump doesn’t work”

This is absurd and plainly illegal. The courts should reject this fringe theory.

But the real news here is Trump will do anything to try to kill an agency that has returned more than $21 billion to scammed Americans, but he'll do nothing to lower costs for American families.

For the first time all year, Democrats were riding high and the regime was on the ropes.

If Senate leadership’s goal was to demobilize and depress rank-and-file Democrats, they could not have played their cards better.

This is why we’ve launched the largest primary program that we’ve ever run.
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...

1) Caving on the shutdown proves Trump’s assertion that Democrats were the problem and that he was right to remain strong despite pressures

2) His takeaway for the next fight will be that Democrats will eventually cave as long as he holds out and refuses to negotiate
like this is basically it, the melts melted under pressure

How does the fucking WHIP betray the caucus and minority leader? I mean, isn't that grounds for immediate loss of your post. You are supposed to whip FOR the leader, not against.

Furious Liberals Call for Schumer to Step Aside, Senate Dems Mostly Quiet

I may not be the biggest fan of @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, but he can hold the @housedemocrats.bsky.social caucus together, like a proper leader. Something @schumer.senate.gov is apparently incapable of. It's past time for Schumer to go. @democrats.senate.gov must remove him as minority leader.
November 10, 2025 at 1:59 PM
100% this. Either they were in on it, or they will be calling for the removal of those who were. This cannot stand.
Any Dem Senator who is not calling for Schumer's removal and removal of the 8 Judas Senators from all committees was in on the betrayal. Any Dem can talk the talk but my money says not a single Dem Senator will walk the walk because they were ALL in on the betrayal.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

if you genuinely think Schumer and Democratic leadership opposed this & Republicans coincidentally got exactly the number of votes they needed to avoid a filibuster and none of those votes are from Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in the midterms next year, I have a bridge to sell you.

Vote out Schumer, Gillibrand, and every Establishment Corporate funded Democrat. They've failed us repeatedly and have no idea how to lead. The Democratic Party will either die or transform into new leadership. It cannot survive in its current state.

Here’s the list of the eight Democrats who caved:

⚫️ Catherine Cortez Masto
⚫️ Dick Durbin
⚫️ John Fetterman
⚫️ Maggie Hassan
⚫️ Tim Kaine
⚫️ Angus King
⚫️ Jackie Rosen
⚫️ Jeanne Shaheen

Their excuses don’t hold water. They betrayed all Americans who were counting on them to stand firm and keep fighting.

One of the talking points I keep seeing from Democrats is that part of the deal is that it will "ensure federal workers receive back pay" but that's the existing law!

That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.
November 10, 2025 at 1:16 AM
@schumer.senate.gov It's time to step down. If you are unable to hold the @democrats.senate.gov in line to fight for people, you are unable to lead. You are done.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

The agreement to hold a vote on ACA subsidies is not a concession. It's worth literally nothing. It should be ignored when evaluating the merits of the deal
Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.
