I am a law professor and I endorse this message.
When people break the law, and their actions are righteous and appropriate, we should applaud them. When people abide by or enforce the law, and their actions are repugnant, we should condemn them. We should never pretend the law is a moral dividing line.

I built Anikthea with life drain and radiation among my self-mill. It's really fun!

I have a lot of feelings about how this has impacted the arts (most of my favorite writers spent part if not all of their lives this way) but the right to just hang out and be chill should be for everyone, not just those who justify it with a different kind of productivity.
20 years ago I knew a guy who worked part time, minimum wage, as a dishwasher.

He was able to afford rent and a car (both shitty but functional), concerts, weed, etc.

It's interesting to think of how that kind of dirtbag lifestyle is mostly just gone.

I've seen some folks fearing that Musk might actually be able to purchase Hasbro or D&D. Or laughing at how he'll do it. The thing is, the money isn't there to do it. He literally cannot.

Let's review this. First, there's not a buyout clause. He has to approach the board to make an offer.

I finally (finally!) built the Madame Vastra / Jenny Flint deck I've been wanting to build for *months*.

Apparently there used to be a game company with my name.
And they ported a game called Alone in the Dark for the holding company that now owns Atari.

That a right-wing lawyer just suggested before the Supreme Court that Americans don't have a right to not conform is... a real mask-off moment in a way I suspect is not going to get enough attention.

There was a time when, if a plutocrat died and the first reaction of the peasants was to piss themselves laughing, the plutocracy as a whole was smart enough understand that as a final warning to ease the fuck up before it was their turn.

I have no such confidence in our current plutocrats.
