This is one of the most annoying claims Altman and friends make because it implies that there's a simple solution to climate change that doesn't involve any tough choices or sacrifices by industry or political leaders or regular people and the only problem is we're not smart enough to think it up
While spinning a BS narrative about how eventually once we've diverted 90% of the world's electricity into data centers, we'll get "AGI" and AGI will give us some magic easy solution to stop climate change.

1. In exchange for her NDAA vote, MTG has announced that her national felony trans youth care ban will go to the floor December 17th.

It is not expected to pass into law due to the U.S. Senate.

Still, it will be a terrible historic moment for anti-trans bills.

Though the bill stands little chance of becoming law, it will be a major messaging vote for congresspeople on both sides of the aisle.

Absolute lunacy to me that we just accept that 1/4 of drivers on the road have this level of visibility for 30 minutes in the morning and at night each day. Illegal to wear category 4 sunglasses while driving or tint your windows. Is any car company (or other research group) working on this???

Rivian's CEO said self-driving cars shouldn't just be able to drive, but also run errands for you like a secretary
CEO RJ Scaringe said he wants his AI-powered cars to be able to coordinate their own servicing, so their owners don't have to.

New York City went 12 days without a murder in November / December. That's tied for the longest stretch in history, according to the NYPD. As someone who was here when there were 6+ murders per day in this town, it continues to amaze me how safe the place is.

Oh, here's a big surprise. The transphobes don't believe in ADHD either.
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

The thing about LA is that there may be famous people but they’re all in their cars. In NY you might be waiting for the train listening to a podcast and when you look up from your phone the person taking through your earbuds is right next to you (ask how I know).
