NYC is barely a democracy
Voting turn out to fill Zohran's empty seat is insanely low. (I was only one voting when I went.) The poll workers said way less than 100 all day. Your vote could really count.

The city would be doing people a huge financial favor by charging for parking and encouraging them to get rid of their cars. If people can leave them sitting in a row like this covered in show for over a week, they don’t need them and are wasting their money and should get rid of them.

Open the Torch on the Statue of Liberty next. 🗽
It’s your city, from the sidewalk to the skyline. The David Dinkins Municipal Building’s rooftop is open & free to everyone, starting this June.

Be Amazon driver.
Jam out to your favorite tunes while working your route like literally anyone else who drives for a living.
Get all your deliveries done on time.
Next day you get fired because the AI says you acted too human.

We're all going to hell.
This is the fucking limit. I had no idea that Amazon drivers AREN'T ALLOWED TO SING

I mean, this is pretty much the real answer. The veneer is becoming more and more transparent as each year goes by. Not that the MTA is going to do anything about it.

ok this is cool. dubai has 248 buildings >100m tall so a drone that can apply water at 200m is a pretty good idea. sorry about the burj khalifa tho
Dubai has so many super tall skyscrapers that the fire department uses heavy duty drones (tethered to very long hoses powered by extremely powerful pumps) to douse flames on high floors.

Amtrak is the only railroad in existence that thinks it's an airline, complete with it's own co-branded credit card and frequent rider program. I'm not opposed to them having it if it brings extra revenue, but unless your employer is not paying for your NE Corridor travel who exactly is this for?

I see stories like this all the time. You can blame Hamas or whoever. But if I was an Israeli citizen living just across the wall with Gaza, sipping wine and eating a hearty meal of the kosher beef of my choice while this is going on next door. I honestly don't think I could live with myself.
Israel’s genocide and illegal blockade have caused a severe water shortage in Gaza.

Even before Israel began its bombardment in 2023, Israel’s blockade ensured only 10% of Gaza had access to clean and safe drinking water.
Gaza Strip faces a severe water shortage, despite ceasefire
Israel's destruction of wells and continued restrictions on fuel supply hinder recovery of Gaza's water system, with the Strip only receiving 15 percent of its water needs

There's gonna be daily fake AI videos of subway violence running on Fox News. I'm willing to bet they'll do a segment on NYC crime at least 3 nights a week after January 1 when they swear in Zohran.
NYC is going to have the world's biggest media-manufactured crime panic in history the second Mamdani is elected. They aren't even going to wait until he is inaugurated. Whether or not you like the guy, you need to start preparing now for the fire hose of disinformation that is about to activate.
