Side note: I'm not sure why they renamed Idlewood to JFK after his assassination. The guy was from Massachusetts. He didn't have any direct ties to NYC.

Can we pass a law banning naming major infrastructure projects like airports, bridges and train stations after politicians? (at least living ones)? I believe some other countries have done something akin to that. It's still called the Tappen Zee Bridge btw.

Hopefully proof-of-payment, but we all know that's not gonna happen.

I'm not dealing with this. I'm just going to buy paper tickets from now on. Hopefully someone finds an exploit in the meantime.

The fact that retail stores in the US aren't legally required to post prices without the sales tax included is an anomaly. The fact that they're not legally required to post prices at all is straight up anti-consumer.
Same thing with high-end restaurants. I know the food is expensive but tell me!

I’m just going to go back to using paper tickets while I still can.

I mean, this is pretty much the real answer. The veneer is becoming more and more transparent as each year goes by. Not that the MTA is going to do anything about it.

Whats wild is that you can fly to Asia from NYC on some airlines for like €100-€200 more.

I was going to ask what airline you prefer when flying from the US to Romania (and vice-versa). Obviously HiSky is the most direct (and a weird route all things considered). But is it the cheapest?

Blakeman is certain to lose. The question is whether he can sling enough mud against Hochul to hurt the Democrats on down-ballot races in the legislature, Congress, and local races in the suburbs.

Taipei, Taiwan has a metro that is entirely OPTO, but the Wenhu (Brown line) is Z(ero)PTO. It's entirely automated, doors and all. Yet manages to transport over 100,000 people safely per day. Of course, staff at stations can always override it if a technical problem occurs.
