This is a legitimate scientific revolution in meteorology.

Also, to be clear, these models are not the AI LLMs that most people are familiar with. They are machine learning algorithms trained on observations (actually reanalysis).

I am so grateful to share a community with this incredibly fierce warrior woman. The MAGAts in our city will feel no shame, but I hope the fence sitters, and those, like the mayor, who decided doing the right thing was too costly, feel at least a shred of embarrassment at how empty of values you are

In Worcester we have a brave woman who is doing precisely this. And those of us, mostly women by the way, will keep standing with her.
Women who put themselves through this, with visible trauma, don’t do this for themselves, they do it for all girls and women who may continue to be victims of a system that grants impunity to predators. Do not fail them, demand accountability, and don’t stop.

Thank you to each one of them.

And this is a great example of why I said “No” to allowing the use of an AI tool to listen and transcribe my last medical appointment. What a horrible mess.
a few months ago I said "having generative AI handle absolutely anything with regards to healthcare is a nightmare and should be banned" and a bunch of people made fun of me and called me stupid. anyways,

Still processing the Worcester election results from yesterday. Finding joy in @bilottafordistrict2.com winning in District 2. It’s much harder thinking about our city council losing @etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social and her tireless advocacy and huge heart.

A decline in remote work flexibility over the last year is widening the gender pay gap and dragging down the labor force participation rate of college-educated mothers.

Trump again just implied that the MMR vaccine causes autism.

Many studies have shown that there is no relationship between MMR vaccine and the development of autism.

This one followed every single child born in Denmark from 1991 through 1998 (n=537,303). There was no association.

A tough but important read. We need to name where we are if we have any hope of getting out of it. It feels especially bleak today as it’s my firstborn’s 20th birthday. I hate that our democracy is fading as she moves into adulthood.
The precise moment when and where in recent weeks America crossed that invisible line from democracy into authoritarianism can and will be debated by future historians, but it’s clear that the line itself has been crossed. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/america-ti...
