My team and I at the Crowd Counting Consortium (@djpressman@bsky.social, Soha Hammam, & Chris Shay) have a new piece out: wagingnonviolence.org/2025/06/amer.... In it, we show that through May 2025, the size and scale of anti-Trump protests have dwarfed those in 2017. 🧵

You really have to be a special kind of evil to rip $1 BILLION from school mental health and anti-violence programs—because they dared to be inclusive. Trump isn’t saving kids—he’s sacrificing them to push his hateful agenda.

This vote is scheduled for just over two hours from now, so make sure your senators hear from you ASAP.
The Senate will soon vote on a bill that could block Trump’s reckless tariffs and end MAGA's fake emergency. Call your senators NOW and demand they stand up to executive overreach.

This was such a satisfying project, and one in which I realized for the first time how much my whole life had been spent in a manscape, in places where almost everything was named after men.
#WomensHistoryMonth: The City of Women Map is a fascinating visualization of women’s history and urban transportation. Created by Molly Roy, Rebecca Solnit, and Joshua Jelly-Schapiro, the map renames subway stops after notable women with links to that area, offering an entirely new way to view #NYC.

Instead of supporting large nonprofits who cave (and are probably going to lose their federal funding in the end anyway), support your local land trusts, Indigenous groups and other local nonprofits. Your money will have a much more powerful impact.
