Whether it’s ICE executing innocent American civilians or liberals retweeting Heather Cox Richardson, both sides have engaged in some truly appalling behavior.

I still remember subway tokens. RIP to a real one.
It's the final day of MetroCard sales—so as we say farewell to an icon, let's take a look at how it all started.

Thank you, MetroCard, for moving New York to the very last swipe.

I cannot fathom not reading books in your free time. I come from a family of readers and apparently am in the top 3% of books read for the median American. Learning new things and escaping into new worlds is so much fun!
NEW: How many books did you read this year? If it was more than 2, congrats: you read more than the median American.

Read on for way more @today.yougov.com polling from me on America's book-reading habits in 2025. 1/

Giddyup 2026, I guess.
The first 3 words you see will define your 2026.

MONEY

PIZZA

sounds good to me.

Our power in SW Mpls went out for 2 hours earlier today. It's gone off and on at least 5 times since then. Now it's out again and estimated to be back in about 2 hours. It's so annoying. I'm also trying to bake so it's extremely frustrating and it's cold out so that's great too.

complaining about paywalls when so many journalists are being laid off and there are fewer market incentives to do great reporting and in-depth investigations, data analysis and features is also wild when everyone understands you need to pay for electronics, streaming services, and utilities

Mowed 90% of my lawn for the first time with instructions from @lindsaympls.bsky.social spouse. He finished the last 10% out front (and weedwhacked and helped me fill the gas can up). It really sucked in the awful humidity, but I'm impressed with myself.

Don’t you lecture me over using arcane words and obscure references, dalcop. You sound just like Sir Thomas More in his 1523 letter to Cardinal Wolsey.

A US-born citizen was walking near Chicago in January. ICE snatched him off the street, handcuffed him, threw into a van. His wallet, which contained his ID, was confiscated. He was detained for 10 hours before being released without a record of what occurred.

He was not dead.

“Dead” Ned Johnson turns out to be very much alive. It took him weeks to convince the system he was breathing and to start clawing his benefits back.

My spouse's cousin and her partner own a bakery in St. Cloud, Backwards Bread Co. You should check them out if you're in the area. Every time he goes to STC I tell him to stop in to support his cousin's business and then I get to be the recipient of excellent pastries. backwardsbreadco.us
