As Pride Month comes to an end, let’s remember the Stonewall riots of 1969

We must honour the spirit of Stonewall!

Pride is a protest, as well as a party!

NEW: We’ve uncovered how the EHRC met behind closed doors twice with anti-trans group Sex Matters to discuss rolling back trans rights. What they said will alarm you. 1/6

How the EHRC Enabled an Anti-Trans Agenda - Trans Advocacy and Complaints Collective
The meeting between the EHRC and Sex Matters shows a human rights body quietly aligning with those seeking to remove rights from a vulnerable minority.

If you're in the UK, you can get a sticker for £1 (stamp + envelope) + 'pay as you feel' here: canopyrobin.sumupstore.com/product/pay-...

If you're anywhere else, unfortunately the only way I can afford to do this is as a freebie when you buy a pride pin at: canopyrobin.etsy.com (let me know!)

I've never been able to understand why (state) sixth form colleges have to pay VAT? When we buy things like graphical calculators in bulk for students to buy, we have to charge them 20% more than their peers in schools. If we have to pay it, private schools certainly should!

Fun fact: in the 1960s, Civil Rights protestors were given literal classes on nonviolent protest; they didn't all just spontaneously know what to do.

So, if you're planning on showing up, this weekend: read this comic. And if you're staying home, signal-boost it/link it around.
I did my best to compile as many protest safety notes as possible into a one page foldout zine! Coincidentally…it seems the file has breached containment…like it’s available for anyone to print or hand out 👀⚖️

skill issue. you obviously need more horse game + art history analysis in your feed
but alice bringing up the connotations of the bayeux horse penises is still just as relevant then as it is now as new media is produced. viewers can clearly see not only the erect component, but the balls. these appear in the lengthy (haha) bayeux tapestry over 90 times. so we have to ask: why? +

Considering the outrage of literal children peacefully camping outside the EHRC its clear they just see Any protest as unjustified and to be met with scorn instead of consideration

Im sure this will only make protests more gentle

Pride isn’t a marketing moment.

Some firms who have supported Pride are advertising on GB News – a rightwing TV channel known for pumping out hatred of LGBTQ+ people.

We’ve teamed up with Stop Funding Hate to get these companies to pull their ads.

Kishwer Falkner has been a disaster for the EHRC (long before recent events, and not just on trans issues).

If she has any integrity or concern for our rights (the rights the EHRC exists to protect) she will resign now and let Govt appoint someone who can.

The key question in this short but damning (of the Supreme Court) letter by Emeritus Professor of neuroscience at Cambridge Uni is this;

It is an extreme dehumanization.

Just so I'm clear. The EHRC were able to do all the necessary work to get legal advice on interim guidance in 9 days and within 4 weeks have produced an updated guidance with a consultation, but they cannot respond to a letter before action in 14 days or 21 days (which is FOI time period). Liars.

Politicians saying they can't march if they can't do it as their party are interesting. So there's not a single community group already registered for the parade that would let you march with them? Damn, sounds like you have some work to do engaging the LGBTQ+ communities you say you support.
