This. If people publically posting snarky/joyful stuff are under the impression that the movement that adored Kirk doesn't contain enough psychos to use this as a trigger for a bloodbath against our own left-leaning public figures... y'all are insanely shortsighted. This is a solemn, scary moment.

Oh no! Tragic for his family, friends, colleagues & fans. #TristanRogers was an idol of my teen years & beyond. His skill & charm made his Robert Scorpio sharp, brave, quirky, cool & often the highlight of every scene. Easily in my pantheon of top 3 male soap characters. Awful year for soap vets.

I’m devastated to hear my friend of 50 years has passed. Just spoke to her 2 days ago & she was her usual feisty, hysterically funny self. This is a hard one. I was her 1st house guest in her new home in 1975 & helped her paint her NYC apartment. Just heartbroken. So hard to lose old friends.💔💔💔

HIya! Thrilled to see new/reboots in a genre that's seemed relatively static. But *was* it static? I'm too ignorant to know. I hesitate to call it a renaissance when I personally know little of the canvas at large. There could be burgeoning projects but I just haven't found them yet. 1/2

HIya! Thrilled to see new/reboots in a genre that's seemed relatively static. But *was* it static? I'm too ignorant to know. I hesitate to call it a renaissance when I personally know little of the canvas at large. There could be burgeoning projects but I just haven't found them yet. 1/2
#BTG deserves its flowers for sure. Still, after a year of intense hype & PR, it'd take a serious nationwide grid outage for its premiere month NOT to beat #GH. The hope is that it keeps the momentum. Networks have long needed to treat their soaps like real TV shows, not afterthoughts.
Just in:
BEYOND THE GATES averaged 2.28M viewers its first week of release, including three days of DVR replays and streaming and +78% ahead of THE TALK last year.
Its linear-only audience (including DVR) was 2.01M, virtually tied with GENERAL HOSPITAL (2.02M). It beat GH in key demos.

Hi Tarrell! ASF was a goofy parody of post-'94 soap plots my cowriters & I hated, an improv email story among ourselves for 2 yrs. CUE PLOT TWIST: we'd accidentally turned it into a genuinely solid saga! In '96 we started over, yanked the dumb stuff (e.g. zombie babies) & launched on the web in 97.
