The plots of disaster movies that portray the end of civilization often begin with high-level Government Officials ignoring the warning of scientists.

One of several lesson learned from the 2.5 hour Netflix Documentary — Don’t Look Up (2021).

Norway had allegedly been the first to implement this infrastructure earlier this year, but Sweden and Detroit already had this from as early as 2022.

It’s always that thin line between being source of inspiration or an object of envy that holds me back.
I've been winning a lot lately and find it hard to share any of it when you know others aren't doing so well.

My 2025 hobby is helping my pals de-centre tech from their lives.

Acquire CDs, records, DVDs, paper books, reference books, magazines, dictionaries, etc. Go to the library!

Going analog is a small way to stop relying on tech bro monsters & helps preserve knowledge they're literally deleting.

Yesterday I went and visited a friend who I haven’t seen in 15 years. He’s a steward of the national park in Hawaii and lives in the middle of the rain forest.

I totally get it now.

A hill I’ll die on every time: NAT is a security feature. It wasn’t intended as one, it shouldn’t be used as one, but it IS one. If I go into my router and disable the firewall, then do the same on every device I own, not a single extra device on my network becomes publicly exposed. That’s security.

If we going to have smart TVs, can we at least have keyboards and mice for them? Do I have to type everything in through a slow janky arrow button interface for the rest of my life like an idiot?

The community doesn't need to own Red Hat in order to contribute to or create communities around the various projects Red Hat creates, repackages, or commercializes.

I'm a Bluesky fan for the same reason I'm a Red Hat fan and it has nothing to do with who owns the company.
