Lovely segue tonight from "smoke alarm needs a new battery and won't stop chirping" to "freezing 2am indego ride to the nearest CVS for D batteries" to "indego station locked up and wont recognize the bike i just docked." Great work all around, entropy.

always so funny to me the hysteria that mamdani -- perpetually smiling! light-skinned for a brown man! so pleasant! -- causes in people by suggesting such catastrophic ideas as "give people who need food said food at reasonable prices" and "make the transit system more accessible." real evil stuff
This Washpost oped is every bit as awesome as its headline

This is my favorite part of this cycle we've been repeating for my entire adult life: when they sit backwards on the chair for some real talk and explain that you're a fucking peasant who doesn't understand how things work.
Durbin said critics of his vote “need to understand how the Senate works”

Still processing the inanity of this cave, like, "We're going to make Republicans go on record that they want to destroy the ACA." You mean the motherfuckers who radicalized in opposition to it & voted to repeal it, like, 22 times? You're finally getting them on record? Really impressed over here

Gillibrand says she is not doing interviews when I asked if she had spoken with Zohran Mamdani since his victory.

I have to hand it to them, it's an incredible bit to publicly lose a game of chicken, admit that's what happened, and then spend the next day lecturing everyone about courage and tenacity

It’s wild to suggest this is a circular firing squad or something when it’s millions of citizen Democrats who hate it versus 47 elected Democrats who conspired to surrender for nothing.

We’re not fighting “each other,” we’re fighting you. There’s only a few dozen of you, but you hold all the power.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

Chuck Schumer has not met this moment and Senate Democrats would be wise to move on from his leadership.

The democrats caved in the face of this political messaging.
Trump claims that food stamps "puts the country in jeopardy. People that are able-bodied can do a job, they leave their job because they figure they can pick this up, it's easier."

sooooo funny that even the guy who the dem seniority bigfooted to keep him out of that judiciary committee chair and to keep useless fuck dick durbin in it won't return even half the spite at them. useless
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

every single week they're throwing this guy a special oval office love-in that appears to be the presidential equivalent of letting your dog scarf an entire big mac and fries before that last trip to the vet
Pirro: "Mr President, there is in this room a group of people who love you, who believe in you, and who are so proud to be in this Oval Office and to be part of this amazing day because you have changed the course of America."
