I imagine that some Pleistocene brown bears evolved into the polar bears in similar and persistent in time conditions.
There should have been many such natural experiments, of big cats of different kind hunting seals, in the old past.

this study highlights that Long Covid remains a risk with every Covid infection, including for children and adolescents.

Particularly relevant as the Children's module opens for the UK Inquiry.

It's nonsense to say that children are and were at no risk from Covid.

“Patients w/ severe long COVID who had not been hospitalised for COVID-19 were examined.”

I know someone w/ POTS & Long COVID. But unfortunately she doesn’t know or acknowledge she has LC, despite my several attempts to tell her about LC. So for her & her doctors, it’s a mystery why she has POTS.
Unusual heart rhythm disorder common in people with long COVID
A new study from Karolinska Institutet shows that an unusual heart rhythm disorder, POTS, is particularly common in people with long COVID. The majority of those affected are middle-aged women.

🧪 Here’s the link to an elegant study about the preventive effects of shingles and RSV vaccines for dementia—and an important thread about the key findings.

Read all the way down to see how the deductive powers of science can shed light on underlying cellular mechanisms. So cool. Get vaccinated.
Do vaccines protect against dementia?
A new EHR-based study of >430,000 older adults found that AS01-adjuvanted vaccines (Shingrix for shingles & Arexvy for RSV) were associated with a lower 18-month risk of developing dementia whether given alone or together.
