Immigrants aren’t taking your homes, they’re building them.

Immigrants aren’t driving food costs up, they’re working to put it on our tables.

Immigrants aren’t making healthcare unaffordable, they go without it.

Billionaires are driving the affordability crisis. Not immigrants.

No one “deserves” to starve or be denied healthcare.

The richest country in the world can easily provide for all, and people shouldn’t have to prove they matter to be fed, housed & cared for.

It’s past time for a universal basic income, universal healthcare, affordable housing & food.

We don't "protect children" by banning everything from them that adults deem "harmful".

We protect them by educating, informing, working with them... Treating them with respect... Supporting them.

"Bans" don't work. Support & education does.

Wear a face mask when you go out in public- if for no other reason than knowing that they want you too sick, too exhausted and too burned out from dealing with back to back respiratory infections to speak up for yourself & your community. You deserve to protect your health.

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

It’s not too late to start masking.

You don’t have to do it alone. You won’t be the lone masker.

There’s an engaged Covid cautious and disability community who will help you.

There’s local mask blocs who provide respirators to those who can’t afford them.

Covid is still here, and masks work!

What if instead of gutting Medicaid and food assistance, America provided universal healthcare for everyone?

What if instead of criminalizing homelessness, they addressed skyrocketing rent prices & income inequality?

What if they put the ICE budget into social supports?

Poverty is a political choice.

Homelessness is a political choice.

Suffering is often a political choice.

People are much closer to becoming disabled/unhoused than they realize.

Help us build networks of community care and better social supports.

A reminder on this July 4, no matter your skin color, nationality, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, religion, or any other vulnerable category:

You belong here. Today, rather than a declaration of independence, we now need a declaration of interdependence.

A lot of people who keep saying “but people who are really disabled will be fine” are about to find out that “disabled” is a real schrodinger's cat type of label where you’re disabled for the purposes of elimination targeting and able-bodied for the purposes of benefits

It’s dehumanizing & discriminatory to say the “genuinely disabled” don’t have to worry about Medicaid cuts

Everyone needs to worry about millions of people losing their healthcare

Invisible disabilities are real. Mental health disabilities are real. Saying some are “genuine” infers others are not

It is breaking my heart that disabled people and their families telling how scared they are about Medicaid cuts...seems to mean nothing to those in power.

You cannot tell how a disability fully impacts someone just by looking at them.

What we see on the outside is only a small part.

Alright I have a question for *all of you*, esp for those of you who are not into environment stuff.

When you think about planting native plants in the area you control, what *prevents* you from taking that action? These could be emotional, financial, practical, anything.

RTs appreciated here.

PSA Neck gaiters are not masks. Neck gaiters are not effective at stopping the spread of airborne viruses. Masks, especially well-fitting ones are effective at preventing infection. Conflating the two is bad because it can encourage politicians to ban masks for the general public.

Someone told me my posts were too political and I should focus more on health.

Health IS political.

I wish it wasn’t. I wish we could agree that everyone deserves universal healthcare and a basic income. Access to food, meds and shelter.

Until that point, politics & health remain intertwined

Yeah, so I am an immunocompromised person permanently disabled twice over because feckless and/or greedy people wanted to pretend there was no pandemic, so I get a bit angry when people pretend masking is *just too much to ask*

No, it’s actually quite simple.
