Glad to see so many others are gathering here. Here's to new beginnings. I once took a wrong turn on the way to my destination and to my delight, this was the view I'd have never seen otherwise. Here's to us all finding small things to delight us when we've lost our way for a bit.

I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.

A reminder: The Attorney General of the United States should be the people's lawyer, not the president's personal attorney. The Department of Justice should act to protect the public, not just the occupant of the Oval Office and his political allies.

Now we see what the gig is: Will DOJ release the files or will they claim their lopsided investigation into only Democrats (despite Bondi’s July statement that the evidence didn’t support any additional prosecutions) means they won’t release anything.
You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

When Texas tried to steal 5 seats, I said to watch the litigation my law firm had filed because we had a good chance of winning in court. Today a federal court BLOCKED THE MAP.

While the legacy media ignored our case, Democracy Docket covered it from gavel to gavel. Subscribe now. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

Racism is of course a big part of it, but I think Larry Summers spells out the other big part: Play ball with the rich and powerful or get pushed out.

THIS IS BIG

For non-academics who might not understand why:
1. Sen. Warren is still a Harvard professor so this is a call coming from inside the house
2. As a tenured law prof, Warren knows it is a VERY big deal from a labor standpoint to call on Harvard to ignore tenure. The bar for this is HIGH.
Per CNN, Elizabeth Warren is calling on Harvard to cut ties with Larry Summers after Jeffrey Epstein's emails released last week by House Dems featured Summers making sexist comments + asking for Epstein’s romantic advice.

From this morning's NPR story. Sounds a lot like what a senior DEA official told me: "Trump likes explosions, death and mayhem because he thinks it will excite his MAGA audience. He doesn't care whether it works. He spends tens of millions to do things that could be accomplished on a $20k budget."

Gifted link below. How many times during my lifetime are we going to watch this same scenario play out? Loose regulations, billions invested, it becomes another unsustainable, Ponzi type scheme by the time it crashes. Unbridled greed.

The DOJ ordered US Marshals to the house of the pardon attorney who refused to sign off on a pardon to give Mel Gibson back his guns. Big law firms told her they supported her but did not want to be seen representing her.

If Trump claims he wants Republicans to vote to release the files now because he has nothing to hide, why doesn’t he just release the files today? Why did he order his AG many months ago not to release them? Why did he threaten Rs who signed the petition?
