“Ah, just one more thing, sir. You’re blowing up those boats, saying they’re filled with drugs headed for the US. But then you go and pardon the guy who brought in 400 tons of cocaine. That’s billions of doses. Help me understand that.”

Big hugs for Nanna Alex who has just made it back to the beach after her arrest. She’s here with @risingtideaus.bsky.social and says she decided to take direct action to stop the coal ships because as a Professor of Public Health she knows the risks. Wake up #auspol #RisingTide #ClimateAction

James Bradley: “The first sign that something unusual was happening in SA waters came March 2025. Surfers at Waitpinga, a starkly beautiful beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula, reported the sand was covered with dense, dirty yellow foam and littered with dead fish, octopuses and other marine animals.”

A reminder we are initiating a mass-extinction event. The ‘costs’ of doing so are effectively infinite and cannot be quantified by our barbaric system of money.
Very comprehensive article on the SA algal bloom. A frightening read. Inaction by our governments, insufficient funding to research and failure to acknowledge the impact of global warming on these sort of events.

And it doesn't end with the rivers. Excessive nutrients flowing down the Murray-Darling system are at least partially responsible for the devastation being caused by the algal bloom around the S.A. coast.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Please read this & help save the State Library of Victoria, entering its 'now fully trashed' era. I didn't go to uni - for me the Library was higher education in later life, research for my job, a revelation about what ordinary people could have access to. It changed my life. Not just a building.
The State Library of Victoria’s ‘major’ proposed cuts include slashing the number of reference librarians and free computers for public access. Some staff are shocked.
Proposed cuts at State Library of Victoria go against its mission – and will hurt the disadvantaged

New fascistic jargon alert. Another copy of Australian policy of dumping people in a foreign country without hope of a future. EU is using concept of “return hubs” as a prison/human warehousing concept for trapping people who don’t meet narrow def of refugees. 😡 Worse than 🇦🇺 Cambodia/Nauru/PNG
