Whoa! Immigrants come here with nothing and the next thing you know they’re buying houses that established citizens cannot afford? Those enterprising newcomers sound like just the sort of folks we need. Never mind that JD’s premise is as BS as his 30M number.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Imagine thinking domestic violence isn’t “really serious”
Q: This has been reported for a while. Cory Mills was accused of beating a girlfriend in his DC apt. Are you concerned about these allegations?

JOHNSON: You have to ask Rep. Mills about that. He's been a faithful colleague. I don't know the details. Let's talk about things that are really serious

Right here in North Carolina!
New in PN: How to steal a state supreme court seat with one weird trick

"Republicans succeeded in changing the rules not midgame but literally after they lost. Nothing will stop them from doing this again and again, making a mockery of elections and injecting confusion into results."

I, like many others, rely on these reports & categories to convince Homeland Security of specific country conditions for asylum claims. Without these categories, the State Dept *disappears* these forms of discrimination & impairs the asylum process. It's the point. And it is evil. Not merely unjust.
The annual State Department human rights report “will remove all sections covering the rights of women, LGBTQ+ people, and the disabled as well as sections dedicated to discrimination against indigenous people and corruption in government.”

Marco Rubio removes LGBTQ+ people & women from annual human rights report - LGBTQ Nation
He also removed sections on women, people with disabilities, and government corruption.

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

The consequences of destroying USAID: 1M children not treated for severe acute malnutrition. Up to 166,000 people will die from malaria. New cases of TB will go up by 30%. 200,000 more children will be paralyzed by polio over the next 10yrs

They did it anyway.

I spent the day at Latinx mini-mercados, laundries, and grocery stores handing out red cards abt immigrant rights (& what to do if agents show up). The appreciation was so intense and palpable. May sound self congratulatory, but it was by far the best way to get over this awful what-do-we do-slump.

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this.

This. This is a miracle: My father's house was saved. What burned was a shed, equipment room, and a hillside. And only feet from the main house (as you can see). I still can't believe it. #palisadesfire

NC folx: pay attention!
Years ago, North Carolina's private school voucher program (advertised as "Opportunity Scholarships") was marketed as expanding opportunity for a highly diverse group of children. But that is no longer the case.
