Thread of stories run by Bari Weiss's group blog that did not ask the targets of (frequently uncorroborated) accusations for comment, let alone give them a preemptive veto over the story:
In 2022, Bari Weiss ran this viral first-person piece by a top Levi’s executive. She claimed she was hounded out of the company because of her vocal stance on COVID restrictions.

There are no quotes from the company. Or her colleagues.

Not even a “no comment.”

Bari Weiss' reporting experience is summed up by the time the NYT bizarrely gave her the cushiest possible assignment - go to Australia and hang out and write about it - and she produced a story so bad and so wrong about basic facts of Australian life that it became a running joke there.

Jesus Christ, this guy did everything so by the book he didn't even cross the border until he had his day in court and they still just black bagged him off to torture prison.
Detainee they are interviewing was a college student in Columbia. Waited in Mexico until he had a 2024 immigration interview in CA - a scheduled appointment - where he was told he was a danger to society. Claims he has no criminal record, never even got a traffic ticket. Was immediately detained

Russian milbloggers rage after Ukraine showed agents infiltrating Lipetsk-2 airbase, sitting in Su-27/Su-30 cockpits, setting them ablaze, and escaping untouched. They blame poor security, saying airbase staff were reassigned to infantry. “A slap in the face to Gen. Afzalov,” one wrote.

Anyways, let me direct your attention over to our *extremely* authentic family tree... tracing us Lis all the way back to Laozi himself! Imagine that!"
@thoc.bsky.social really do want to write a parody complaining the Tang is a "foreign Turkic colonial power" and not a legitimate Huaxia dynasty carrying the proud tradition of the YELLOW EMPEROR.

"Clearly the people to blame for the murders are the murderers, that’s self-apparent. But why didn’t Penny Wong" okay that's enough, old man. Let's get you back to the home.

It took less than 24 hours for an Australian politician to go from "the murders of Jewish people at Bondi is horrific" to "people coming to this country should speak English." Surprising? Nah. Disappointing? Yeah.

This whole thread is entertaining. But this here sums up the problem. Assuming better means more useful and accurate (not just faster), it's no big help if AI generated answers are better than what the average person could do. It needs to beat expert knowledge to really value add.
You and I can be the judge.
This question evades my point.

Certainly, since you have such strong opinions on this, you're aware that LLMs can already produce better outputs on this sort of thing than the broad population? No matter your beliefs as to how they got there.

That bloke is an absolute legend. God knows how many lives he saved with that act of bravery.
Incredible footage out of Australia, confirmed by NEWS AU, of a brave bystander neutralizing one of the terrorists in the Bondi Beach attack which took place during a Hanukkah gathering.

Australian authorities say multiple people have been killed.

At least two suspects are in custody.

This is not as bad as one of my unshakeable core beliefs, which is that every* car driver should have to get a motorcycle/scooter licence and pass a road test on that before being allowed a car licence.

(*unless they are physically incapable of mounting so much as a three wheeler.)
I should never serious post about traffic laws, should go back to my original position: every cyclist should be allowed to empty a clip into any car that inconveniences them slightly

Trump: "The European nations are reporting that your president might as well be the leader of the European nations also. They respect us like they've never respected us before."

All heritage is Hogwarts, in that it’s part of a children’s story designed to coddle you, and make you feel special, and make you believe that old places lend their significance to the people who use them. Being pandered to is no way to live an adult life though.

When people refer to old buildings as ‘like Hogwarts’, remember that in a sense, the project of built heritage conservation is also the conversion of memory (of experienced places) into formal values (of real estate, or public secular meaning), which can be a profoundly ideological, harmful, process
