"The entire project of the US right wing, is re-establishing the permissions structures [for] the persecution and dehumanization of hundreds of millions of people, specifically so that violence, whether vigilante, interpersonal or state violence, can be used to discipline... everyone it sees fit."
I struggle with the conversations about “political violence,” because so many of them are based in not recognizing it’s a daily reality, not an anathema or some kind of rare occurrence. Any attempt to “deal with it,” that ignores this is doomed. Free to all.

Crucial revelation: Trump officials appear to be trying to avoid letting survivors of boat bombings get into US courts, where they'd have to present evidence against them. Can't have that when you're carrying out summary executions.

So much of the city and state's finances are built on regressive taxes. Neither budget addresses the massive regressive tax that is the massive influx of gambling into the state.

The answer is taxing the rich. But we need to address all the ways we're leaning on everyone else.
NEW — With Mayor Johnson and a fraction of the Chicago City Council seemingly at an impasse, one question surrounding the budget debate is why some alders would choose implementing regressive fees on working people over taxing corporations.
