the datahording sub reddit is a wild place with people building PiB servers
a receipt for computer parts. they bought 52- 24TB drives for $13000. they also got a couple ssd drives, fans, and mounting equipment. in total the bill is $15,730.87 reddit comment Overstimulated_moth • 35m Zfs, 3 vdevs, 16 wide raidz2 with 4 spares. With my current setup, this should put me at 1.06PiB of usable space. Im waiting on my 2 supermicro cse-847s to come in the mail to turn into jbods. Im praying they'll be here by tomorrow so I can get my friends to help me get all these drives into their sleds.
