Folks tend to know their own bodies better than anybody else does and, if you ask, can tell you who they are and what they need, if you ask
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Yesterday I mentioned Keith Wilson and his buddy Nathan Vasquez cooking up a "community court" that assigns unpaid labor to homeless arrestees, and I connected it with Downtown Clean & Safe and the Portland Business Alliance, because these things are connected www.portlandmercury.com/news/2008/08...

Solid @jeremiahhayden.bsky.social writeup on the shart swirl pumped into local discourse around Morillo+Green's modest and entirely reasonable tweak to the mayor's class war budget.

Who's got links to the emails Olivia and Eric sent to their creeper lists?

“But you ran on cleaning up the garbage!”

Yes…and people are not garbage. And a lot of the garbage at encampments comes from illegal dumping from housed people.

We should just stop people from becoming homeless in the first place.

Mistake to let another skinny white business man lead a city. Overconfident on positive feedback to his magnetic aw shucks demeanor, borderline sociopathic, ideas unfailingly deranged, horrendous personal style

I was confused about this argument but I understand it now. The argument is we should stop objecting to the cruelty of Wilson’s homeless policy and let him be cruel, because he’s less cruel than he could be, and we should be cruel to the homeless, who are, across the board, mentally ill or junkies
If you think Wilson is cruel, check out NYC or Chicago. Seriously, go take a look. Liberal bastions with no tents or encampments. Google “Right to Shelter”. Its NYCs nice way of saying; as long as we have shelter beds available, thats all we allow you to use.

Definitely at least submit written testimony in if you haven’t yet.

The possibility of showing kindness to the poor is bringing out the worst of the worst and yk council’s conservatives are scrounging for excuses to shut their ears and say what Jon Isaacs wrote on the sheet of paper he gave them
Testify to stop the sweeps before Wednesday!!

Hello @councilordunphy.bsky.social I watched this and my one concern is that she isn’t being mean enough
I went back and watched this exchange today, and the response to Smith’s questions (from her colleagues and the O) encapsulates something that holds Portland back.

It is absolutely insane that the City Administrator, who makes $300K+/yr, couldn’t answer this question.
