Let's call @democrats.senate.gov bluff and DEMAND they remove @schumer.senate.gov as senate minority leader IMMEDIATELY. Either he coordinated making sure the votes came from Senators not up for reelection or he's lost control of his caucus.
Either way, he's a failure. He has to go.

something I keep thinking about is: there are a lot of powerful people in this country who seem to believe that the french revolution couldn't happen to them

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.
Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.
It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

I've been thinking about this angle on art a lot lately. We invented machines that can play grandmaster-level chess decades ago, but humans still play chess competitively & for fun. Cause it's not just about the end product, it's about challenging & expressing yourself as a person.
I think even for people who aren't artists, there are many who enjoy art as a human feat of skill and expression even if they are doing no art creation themselves. Even if AI art was better then human art, and it's not, no one gives a shit that a forklift can carry more then a weightlifter.

Putting in a plug yet again for Tidal which I have overall been quite happy with and which I found it very easy to switch to
Spotify is crashing HARD because of the boycott. Their stock dropped 11% in value over the last month. Let’s keep this going!
Tell everyone you know to boycott Spotify. There are plenty of alternatives that don’t run ICE advertisements and screw over artists.
We made it easy at boycottspotify.com.

hey chat would you describe this as "winning" and "running your business really good"
ICYMI: Microsoft’s charge “implies a more than $12 billion quarterly loss at OpenAI, said Firoz Valliji, an analyst at Bernstein.”
That “would mark one of the largest single-quarter losses for a tech company in history.”

You can expect more of this from countries, even close US allies and trade partners going forward. Not many countries out there willing to let a growth sector of their economy be crippled by US payment processors deciding to fuck with international trade.
