New Italian brain rot just dropped
I have no real interest in who the new pope is; but on CBS this morning, one of the reporters said one of the candidates is Pierbattista Pizzaballa and then very excitedly, said 'His name literally means pizza dancer! Imagine the memes!" and now I know whose team I am on.

RFK is a eugenics freak first and foremost and everything falls downstream from that. he *wants* excess deaths. he thinks that only the "fit" should survive.

OK I hate AI as much as any of you, but Miyazaki was specically complaining about AI animating zombies with their limbs blown off to walk on their stumps. The "insult to life itself" was that it was dehumanizing to disabled people. Stop using that quote. It minimizes what he was actually saying.

Crazy back in the day your life’s work could be testing out material samples or metal someone sends you from a place that would take you longer to travel to than receive said rock by mail. Spending time on bash.

The Democratic “plan” is to “not get distracted” as Trump seizes Treasury, purges the FBI and the military, and completely defies all laws limiting himself, and then win back the House in 2026 by talking about inflation. It’s an awful plan.

the major error was believing decadence was about lifestyle issues as opposed to personal responsibility. a decadent society isn't a place where people party too much, its a place where no one tries to stop a trump like figure until its too late

Sen. Tim Kaine tells federal employees to ignore Trump’s offer to quit with pay for months. “Don’t be fooled. He’s tricked hundreds of people with that offer. If you accept that offer and resign he’ll stiff you just like he stiffed the contractors. He doesn’t have any authority to do this.”

Who Elects the Conservatives in Canada?

Could it be voters of the Liberal party whose polling projections nearly identically mirror the Conservative polling projections?

No, no. Couldn't be. Has to be NDP and Greens splitting the vote. 🙄

Not a speechmaker but a strategist: Keir Starmer’s approach to Europe is all about quiet progress.

The big picture? Less divergence, more alignment, & cautious bridge-building.

…but is he going far enough fast enough?
Quietly, Starmer is closing our gaps with Europe
Starmer’s refusal to consider a return to the EU or the single market angers Europhiles, but a new report suggests a quiet change.
