I’ve remarked on this before but I was Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max’s age back in the Eighties. I’m a class of ‘89 kid. I played D&D and rode bikes and had awkward crushes and dealt with bullies. I think a lot of Gen X has this same deep familiarity with Stranger Things, the same feelings.

Just browsing ESPN and saw the Broncos were favored by 5.5 over ‪@sanfrancisco49ers.bsky.social‬ in this weekend's preseason game, and I'm just beside myself imagining how degenerate you'd have to be to wager on the NFL preseason. Ever watch the fourth quarter of one of these things? Chaos!

What do you mean you haven't read Cherie Priest? Why are you even here? She writes amazing, unsettling, creepy stuff with a deeply human heart at the center. Go forth and fucking buy her new book already, you can thank me later.

Next time these people talk about government regulations stifling industry and costing jobs, invite them to choke on a bag of dolphin dicks.

Republicans just collapsed a multi-hundred-billion dollar industry because it competes with some of their donors.

Reports that a Canadian citizen who has resided in the US since age 10 was abducted at a green card interview.

Her husband is begging ICE to let him fly her back to Canada and they refuse to release her.

#Baltimore Mayor #BrandonScott invested in 42 summer youth camps, 29 literacy programs, extended the rec center hours to 11 p.m, planned block parties, opened the pools for safe fun, & opened several schools up for summer classes. Crime is down 62%. 🔥🔥 www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...
Baltimore is seeing the city’s fewest homicides in 50 years. Here’s why.
Multiple people have taken credit for the historic drop that mirrors a national decrease in violent crimes. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott says it’s due to a community-based approach to gun violence.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

Eight-thousand upvotes for a baseless conspiracy theory about Trump stealing the 2024 election. It's stupid when right-wingers claim Biden stole 2020. It's just as stupid when left-wingers claim Trump stole 2024. Biden won legitimately. So did Trump. www.reddit.com/r/50501/comm...

This has always been the GOP's strategy:

1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves.

2) Explode deficits

3) Use the debt as an excuse to demand cuts to vital programs that help millions.

4) Repeat.

ICE will have a budget greater than the Ukrainian armed forces in 2024.

Let me repeat that. The Republicans are willing to pay more than entire military budget of the Ukrainians to round up people into camps and deport them into a Gulag.

ICE would be the 8th most well funded military on Earth.

Hot take. The government isn’t subsidizing university budgets. Universities are lending subsidized expertise to research and development that contributes to the public good. It’s called partnership.
