Paints minis, plays games, takes photos and sometimes codes a bit.
Sometime I get bored and balance model kit parts together to recreate something silly. No, I'm not cutting that bit off the correct 80s kit to make it #warhammer #zoids

Today I finished putting together another #Zoid with this, ahem, Guysack. Or scorpozoid if you grew up with the correct lore.

Why does an updated version of an unreleased 1980s G1 #transformers toy look better than any other version released?

Amazon have removed the guns from their Bond posters, giving the tantalising impression that Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan think you’re a wanker.

With 4th edition #malifaux not sharing models between crews I'm kind of tempted to give each one I build from now on a display diorama that their bases slot into.

I keep thinking about "3D impressionism" as a much needed term for the way we think about art direction in games

To me measuring how "better" or "worse" the graphics are only in terms of their relation to reality is like claiming the photo of a street in Arles is objectively superior to Van Gogh

I think this is a very insightful statement about what we call "AI" and will be chewing on it for a while
The fact that human language can be broken down on a mathematical level like this to such an extent, WITHOUT building a genuinely thinking mind behind it, is an immense and deeply unexpected discovery about language and cognition.

This is something that shouldn’t be possible, and now it is.

Discworld QOTD, from Night Watch

“Once you get troops on the streets, it’s only a matter of time before it goes bad. Some kid throws a stone, next minute there’s houses on fire and people getting killed.”
Discworld QOTD, from Eric

“The captain glared at him. The sergeant put on the poker face that has been handed down from NCO to NCO ever since one protoamphibian told another, lower-ranking protoamphibian to muster a squad of newts and Take That Beach.”
Discworld QOTD, from The Last Hero

“Too many people, when listing all the perils to be found in the search for lost treasure or ancient wisdom, had forgotten to put at the top of the list "the man who arrived just before you".”
