Immediately after that last repost, I went to see the obituaries in my hometown paper.

No one I went to HS with, but the old guy who owned a laundromat, car wash, and bar (real entrepreneur!) just died, dang.

We spent I don't even want to say how much on groceries this week, but we have literally everything we need for holiday meals except one peach and one boxed cake mix

Our windstorm is several hours late but it is howlin’.

So glad we have a garage now to protect the car from flying patio furniture!

The University of Arkansas spent $36,000 on balloons last year. After seeing what they got, we think it was worth every penny.

In FOIAball this week, we EMBRACE THE HOG.

First 🥯 ➡️ 🚌 ➡️ 🚈 commute day of the week.

My usual train line is in for likely months of single tracking, so I am officially switching to a longer bus ride to a train station that is outside of that section. Still doing the bagel part as planned.

My most fundamental belief is that we do not have to live like this.

Knives Out 3 was pretty entertaining, but more than two hours of the minutiae of small Catholic parish operations was the most I’ve endured since childhood

I have had a couple of anxiety dreams that my brake pedal broke and I had to Macguyver a replacement while in motion. Maybe I should use something from my grocery bag tbh

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon at my hometown’s drive-in. Sitting on the roof of Alicia Rose’s van, sharing a green chile pizza from the concession stand, watching Zhang Ziyi fly around on that giant screen. Epic.

25 years later, that place is improbably still open.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

On my way home I didn't know why but there was a major p*lice/EMS presence by one offramp. Turns out a guy climbed this giant ugly sculpture in an office park right off I-25, and he is apparently still up there five hours later 🤯
