Fellow maladjusted malcontents: We need to fight like hell for the soul of our society. The general public tends to be ungrateful at best, but they're screwed without us & we're screwed without them.

Remember what Dr. King said: "Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted."

Anyway, there's a difference between a boycott, which is consumers, and a sell-off, which is investors.

Could be institutional investors worried about the boycotts, or individual stockholders finally extending the boycotts into finance. Hard to tell, I'm told.
I'm a little surprised there's enough boycott-ready people still on there after the "supporting dangerous flagship podcasts" boycott and the "not paying smaller artists" boycott, but I am sufficiently "online" that I am vulnerable to overestimating how aware people are of corporate sins.
Spotify is crashing HARD because of the boycott. Their stock dropped 11% in value over the last month. Let’s keep this going!

Tell everyone you know to boycott Spotify. There are plenty of alternatives that don’t run ICE advertisements and screw over artists.

We made it easy at boycottspotify.com.

One of the most important provisions of the ACA was eliminating pre-existing conditions exclusions from insurance plans.

Folks need to be reminded that if the ACA goes away, so does that provision.

There are no good-faith anti-trans arguments, only patriarchal power grabs.
A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

They literally had a caucus meeting to decide who would vote against the filibuster. It's not an accident that no one up for reelection in 2026 is on this list save Fetterman, who is legit bonkers.

Schumer planned behind closed doors to do this & all agreed.

All of them are traitors. All of them.
Here’s the fucking traitors

Yes you have good cause to be mad at the Democrats, but never forget that a political party emerged in this country whose platform included hungry kids, sick kids, and deported kids — and we were all conditioned to act like that was the party of “real America”

And so maybe it is.

A rare interview with the creators of the always-funny, always-brilliant, and *usually*-sexy—or occasionally anti-sexy—OGLAF!

Cooper has kept a low profile over the years, but is legitimately one of the very best artists in comics today. Read OGLAF if you're old enough to drive!
Talking Oglaf with Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne: 'We'd stay up all night drawing stuff to make each other laugh' - The Comics Journal
Other than some time off every year for Christmas, Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne have delivered a new Oglaf comic, skewering fantasy tropes with absolutely not safe for work humor, every week since 2008...

I have now read many smart people explaining what and why the dem senate did and I stand by this. My hopes for a better America do not rest on the current class of Democratic Senators.
I am not going to let Schumer and 8 center-right Democrats bring me down. We won on Tuesday. We're gonna keep winning. Just keep telling the stories of what the Trump administration is doing and how it's making lives so much harder, about the corruption, the incompetence, the violence.

People should understand that the "good" Democratic senators were in on this. If you're angry but your senator voted no you should still be angry at your guy (or gal).
The caucus’s deference to one another is the problem not just Schumer. They’re not going to elect a leader who will publicly call them out for hiding behind off-cycle and retiring members.

Even the handful of progressive senators don’t go after their peers in a meaningful way.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Some of these Dems are acting like it's still 2015 and the GOP hasn't been radicalized by Trump. They think their Republican coworkers can still be reasoned with and are acting in good faith, when that has not been true for a long time. The Pre-Trump Republican Party no longer exists.
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

Every educated adult in the U.S. knows this but the senate shouldn't exist. There is no justification for North Dakota and South Dakota to have four senators between them when the combined population of both states is smaller than that of Chicago.
