@hntdove.bsky.social finished Three Miles Down this week. It was a fun and easy read. Project Azorian is my favorite Cold War story.

Thanks

Wild story: a quality manager who warned about the shoddy construction of Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes was particularly concerned about the ones sent to Air India in 2014. That's when the Air India jet that crashed today was sent.

One of the Dreamliners That Gave a Boeing Manager Nightmares Just Crashed
Whistleblowers always warned that passengers would pay a price for Boeing’s tyrannical corner-cutting, especially with the planes shipped overseas.

The oppression of the entire Latino community of Los Angeles right now is difficult to convey.

Normally vibrant local retail areas of East LA and SELA look like ghost towns this week. People are afraid to leave their homes. Parents afraid to go to work.

One of the ironies of working at @thebulwark.com is watching my anti-Trump, ex-Republican colleagues bang their heads over the squeamishness and incompetence of Democrats.

They cannot believe how many times Democrats whiff, or don't even swing, at opportunities to stick it to the Trump party.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

I was in a store yesterday and a woman collapsed and hit her head on a shelf, cutting her head open. We stopped the bleeding while the clerk called 911. When the ambulance showed up, the woman didn’t want to go to the hospital at first bc she was worried about the cost. Picture unrelated.
