Ditch Daylight Saving Time. Permanent Standard Time lets us sleep later for health, mood, safety, education, economy, and environment. We’re a 501(c)(4) nonprofit.

Permanent Standard Time would let us sleep naturally past dawn. Daylight Saving Time makes us wake by alarm in darkness. Tell lawmakers to ditch DST! 🔗👇

New Jersey residents: Tell your state senators to oppose S1510 permanent DST before its Transportation hearing on Monday. Last time pDST was tried, it was a deadly and expensive disaster. Tell them to support S4084 permanent Standard Time for safety instead!

“Daylight Saving Time shifts light from morning to the end of the day. That is damaging because morning light is the big signal for our body clocks, which regulate sleep/wake cycles, mood, gene expression, hormones, and metabolism.”

We’re proud to support efforts in Europe to ditch Daylight Saving Time and to realign clocks more closely to solar time, natural time!
November 8, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Solar time measures the sun’s exact position. Standard Time measures the sun’s approximate position. Daylight Saving Time measures…nothing!
November 8, 2025 at 1:11 AM
New Jersey: Tell state senators to oppose S1510 before its hearing on Monday. Daylight Saving Time darkened mornings past 7am all October; permanent DST would darken mornings past 8am in November into February. It cost lives when last tried! Amend to permanent Standard Time or approve S4084 instead.

If clocks hadn’t “fallen back”, most Americans’ mornings would still be pitch black. Stop “spring forward”, ditch DST, make Standard Time permanent, for health and safety!

“If Indiana stayed on DST year-round, the sun wouldn’t rise until after 9am from mid-December through mid-January…”

New Jersey: Click -> www.votervoice.net/ditchDST/Cam... <- to tell state senators to oppose S1510 before its hearing Monday. Permanent Daylight Saving Time would put sunrise past 8am for 2+ months, to nearly 8:30am. They need to amend to permanent Standard Time or approve S4084 instead!

Oregonians (and Americans) deserve leaders who prioritize science and health over the “economic benefits“ of an extra hour of shopping.
@wyden.senate.gov (Co-sponsor of the “Sunshine Protection Act”):
please educate yourself on the actual science which strongly backs Permanent Standard Time.

Hello from Time-change-with-a-toddler Land!

THE SCIENCE SUGGESTS THAT YEAR ROUND STANDARD TIME IS BEST.

I know it’s the least of our worries right now, but let’s get some data driven policy going and end this hellscape of twice a year time change.

Study suggests most Americans would be healthier without daylight saving time
According to a new analysis by Stanford Medicine scientists, changing clocks twice a year disrupts circadian rhythms, leading to higher rates of stroke and obesity.

Sleep capstone was a great discussion of maps, circadian health, and the legacy of imperialism. We compared the Peters projection vs. Mercator maps & noticed 80% of the world's population follows solar time. We listened to this podcast. On the Peters map, you can see AK 4 time zone width well.

“Internal clocks align with the sun, and Standard Time matches natural light. Permanent DST can delay sleep, decrease sleep duration, and lead to chronic sleep deprivation. American Academy of Sleep Medicine supports permanent Standard Time.”

“Throughout DST, the average person gets less sleep and experiences a chronic circadian misalignment compared to Standard Time. Over months, this can feel akin to living in the wrong time zone.”
