#VotePlaid

Go out and vote for this folks. There is a narrow margin and Plaid Cymru could easily beat Reform in the #Caerphillybyelection with a good turn out at the polling station.
🚨 NEW POLL IN CAERPHILLY 🚨

Next week's by-election is a two horse race between Plaid Cymru and Reform.

Now's the time to lend Plaid Cymru your vote to elect local champion, Lindsay Whittle - and stop Reform's politics of division.

The parliamentary register of interests shows that Farage has made nearly £400,000 from GB News since August 2024, for c190 hours’ work. This suggests he is being paid more than £2,000 an hour by the news channel. All paid to Thorn In The Side Ltd owned solely by Farage

If you've ever argued with a right winger and wondered why facts don’t land, it’s not just stubbornness.

Psychology shows they literally process information differently and that shapes how campaigns and slogans work on them.

Let's not make the same mistakes this time like we did on Brexit.

Long 🧵
fundamentally the problem is that if you think "hotels are where I stay on holiday and I like being on holiday so living in a hotel must be fun and it's not fair others get to do it and not me" then you have the intellectual reasoning of a little child and it's going to be hard to engage with you

Can someone please explain why it is that too many politicians only seem to want the votes of the prejudiced and the ignorant? To the extent that they are actively repelling anyone capable of rational thought and decency. Why the pathetic need to appease the bigot vote, at everyone else’s expense?

this is getting next to no media attention and it’s horrifying. transphobes weren’t going to stop at bathrooms, no hormones for minors, they are going to keep pushing until it’s entirely illegal and no one is standing up for us other than trans people

As @premnsikka.bsky.social has said before, the UK's 'East India Company' moment is here.
Corporations like US Blackrock are now in partnership with Starmer’s changed Labour Party. Blackrock's ambitions are evolving; they view public services as ‘small potatoes’, so what is Blackrock up to?

Tonight, I voted against plans to cut £2 billion in support for hundreds of thousands of sick and disabled people.

Stripping £3,000 a year from people who are too ill to work and already on low incomes will only deepen the poverty many face.

I voted against the welfare bill again tonight, as sadly it will still result in:

❌ £2bn worth of cuts to disabled people's incomes
❌ 50,000 people being pushed into poverty
❌ 750,000 low-income sick and disabled people losing £3k per year

I refuse to be part of this and remain steadfast in my view that this bill will be disastrous and is not something that I, as an elected representative, can vote for.

Is the reason we can't afford to pay doctors and nurses the same wages they earned in 2008 in real terms

Because £23 billion in contracts goes to private firms providing services to the NHS, generating for them over £3 billion in profit every year?

Profits more important than NHS staff pay?

Reeves is delivering austerity for the UK youtu.be/TwQxdCLjL9s?... Rachel Reeves' Spending Review is a sham. She is claiming to deliver a lot, and she isn't, whilst failing to provide for children in poverty and simultaneously keeping the wealthy in the style to which they are accustomed.

Your words may be kind but your actions betray you, Labour.

Streeting's war on trans youth, Starmer's cruelty to trans adults, and your u-turning on your manifesto promise to "remove indignities for trans people who deserve recognition and acceptance" is shameful.

🧵1/ Farage: The Russia Links.

With a pint in one hand and Putin’s dick in the other, Farage has built a legacy on Russian propaganda and a trail of bullshit faker than his tan.

He might be popular, but Ted Bundy was a hit with the ladies and look at how that ended.

Care home investors rake in billions from pensioners

96% of elderly care privatised. Private equity moving in.

Focus on short-term profits, cut wages/staff, low investment, poor care.

27% price hike. £1.5bn taken by shareholders.

Need integrated healthcare, not sharks.

In a nutshell...
No one who cares about wildlife and ecosystems is now likely to vote Labour in 2029.
Or about Gaza.
Or poverty.
Or inequality.
Or international aid.
Or corporate power.
Or democratic reform.
Or racism.
Or trans rights.
So that's goodbye to just about its entire vote.
What are they playing at?

Brexit promised to “take back control of our borders”
But it also created huge labour shortages
So, govt issued huge numbers of visas to fill the gaps.
It ended reciprocal asylum arrangements with the EU
So, crossings went up.

Govt response?
“Take back control of our borders”
Such a ruinous deceit.
