We promised to restore trust in politics and that is exactly what we need to do. The Nolan Principles for public life are not optional. As politicians, every single one of us must adhere to them. The actions of Peter Mandelson are an absolute disgrace and clearly flout these principles.

The average funeral costs over £4,000. Many families struggle to meet this cost at short notice. Know your rights when arranging a funeral:
✓ Ask for itemised quotes
✓ Compare prices (they can vary)
✓ Say no to extras
✓ Check for financial help

Jake is a 16 year old beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Just before Christmas, he was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia, a very rare disease that is very cruel and swift acting.

Another positive meeting this morning with constituents from Fairfield West & Newsham talking about their priorities for the Pride in Place funding I have secured.

Thanks to everyone who attended.

Very sad to hear that Nathaniel Dye has passed away.

A truly inspirational gentleman.

May he rest in peace.
“The Assisted Dying Bill is helping people like me to prepare for the worst”.

This week I interviewed Nathaniel Dye, who has raised thousands for charity after being diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer.

He campaigned for his MP, Wes Streeting, during the election, but disagrees on assisted dying.

The Labour Government is capping ground rents at £250 a year.

Positive news for leaseholders who have been squeezed for far too long.

It was wonderful to welcome Danielle & Claire from Plus Dane to my office today.

We had a constructive conversation about effective partnership working.

I look forward to our continued work.

The decision to delay the implementation of the decent homes standard to private rented accommodation until 2035 is a disgrace.

‘Absurd’: decent homes standard for England’s private renters will not be enforced until 2035
Campaigners say government is letting landlords ‘drag their feet’ and ‘denying renters the most basic standards’

I asked the chancellor what the government is going to do to support pubs like the fantastic Masonic Arms in Lark Lane, in my constituency.

Pubs and the wider hospitality industry are struggling under an unfair system and need our support.

I asked the minister what the government were going to do for salons such as Aura Hair Company in my constituency, run by the wonderful Victoria and Janet, who are having to cut back on employing apprentices due to the unfair financial squeeze created by rising business rates and VAT.

As always it was a privilege to attend the Holocaust Memorial service held in Parliament & to sign the book of remembrance.

Parliament has an incredibly moving exhibition which is a stark reminder of the horrors of the Holocaust.

This report is a shocking reminder that the temporary accommodation crisis is devastating the lives of children across the UK.

I welcome the commitments made by the Government in the National Plan to End Homelessness, but the needs of neurodivergent children must be explicit in these measures

Music venues and studios must not be overlooked from any review on business rates.

For British artists to thrive, we must protect where music is made.

Which is why I’ve signed my colleagues letter urging the Chancellor to act before rises force closures.

Today we remember all those that lost their lives in the Holocaust and in the genocides that have come since.

We must work together to stand against all forms of racism and hatred - and say never again to such atrocities.
