Months? Obamacare was passed in March 2010. They’ve had 15 years to come up with a plan and still nothing that is a viable alternative. There is no viable plan. Opposing Obamacare is their entire game.
Republicans said for months they had plenty of time to figure out what to do about Obamacare subsidies expiring at year’s end. During a 6-week government shutdown that ended last week, they said they’d talk about it after. Now, with five weeks to go before New Year’s, they’re scrambling and divided.
Republicans left the Obamacare cliff to the last minute. Some are regretting it.
GOP lawmakers knew subsidies were expiring and premiums would spike, but no clear, conservative alternative emerged.
